I like how people aren't exposing Brooklyn's glaring weaknesses that will result in them not being competitive with Miami. Number 1, transition defense, unlike San Antonio they don't really have anyone who will run the floor. There's not a single guy on that starting lineup that can run with Miami or match up athletically with anyone on Miami. 2, they have a first year head coach, which is bigger than some of you think. 3, they have to rely on Jason Terry and AK47 to do all the bench scoring for them, which neither one can really hold the fort for an extended period of time. And last but not least, injuries. That's self-explanatory.

I will say that if they can be a top 5 defense this year and Deron isn't lazy they have a chance. Deron will actually have to step up this year, but he suffers from CP3-esque underperformance so who knows.

I'm guessing the ESPN top 5 is LeBron, Durant, Paul, Harden, then Westbrook.
Rankings are stupid but the thought of westbrook being considered a top 5 player is comedic

I thought Andray Blatche was still on the team, no? Shaun Livingston looks good so far as well.

This seems relevant:
Granger ruled out for the final two preseason games

Danny Granger will not play in the final two games of the preseason slate due to a strained left calf, which he re-aggrevated in last Friday’s loss to Chicago.

“He has been ruled out for this week’s games and we’ll give you an update once we hit that point,” Frank Vogel said after practice on Monday.

Granger did not practice on Monday and he confirmed that he will still travel with the team to Atlanta.

Granger played in each of the first five preseason contests and he was a starter in his last two appearances. He first sustained a left calf strain in the first quarter against the Dallas Mavericks and with it being just the preseason, he didn’t return. Then, it bothered him during the third quarter of the next game in Chicago, and he remained out.

While on the court in Chicago, Granger finally looked comfortable and confident. He was 4-of-7 from the floor for 11 points, and he knocked down all three of his 3-point attempts. He was moving better and not hesitating to jump in order to contest shots on the defensive end.

After a week off from basketball, the team’s training staff will then decide what’s next moving forward. As far as his left knee is concerned, Granger said he’s having no problems.

The Pacers open the 2013-14 season at home on Oct. 29 against the Orlando Magic.

When that Thunder fades and the clear skies come back, OKC will be a franchise where no player wants to be a part of.

It would be poetic justice if somehow they got sent back to Seattle

If they lose Westbrook and Durant it would be nobodies fault but the cheap *** owners trying to maximize profit over winning

NO IT CANNOT, they will forever regret this day.

When that Thunder fades and the clear skies come back, OKC will be a franchise where no player wants to be a part of.
Yup, by 2017 this team will be a basketball graveyard if they dont win a chip by then. Its sad to say and I dont really want to be one of those guys who is making an outlandish claim so far out but the writing is on the wall.

The worst thing is that they were crying poverty like the Thunder werent one of the most popular teams in the league. It had three of the leagues top 20 players on it, and they merchandised like crazy. It will never sit well with me ever.

I know, cuz everybody and they moms is just tripping over themselves to get to Cleveland, signing up all the free agents.
The Thunder draft and trade their way to success, free agents have never been a huge part of the Thunder's way other than the bargain bin ones nobody else wants that they grab a few of every yr and try to salvage some production out of.

Presti won't let KD or Russ leave for nothing. He always resigns his FAs early or trades them for something. Don't know why people think he would break from that now and risk it with 2 franchise changing FAs. He'll ask KD in 2015 to extend early, if KD says no or something like, "I want to explore my options," have to trade him for a cap friendly replacement and 37 1st rd draft picks.

KD would be due $20,158,622 in 15/16, the last yr of his deal and Russ would be due $17,769,374 in 16/17, the last yr of his deal (also Ibaka's at 12.5mil). That's a massive amount of cap hold cleared off. Presti would get 1 decent still but on an ending contract dude and all the lottery picks, 1 yr you would just see the Thunder draft 1-14.

Quit being so damn insecure.

Welcome to 2013 champ; where nearly all of the NBA players actually want to only play in 3 cities these days.

OKC is literally in the middle of nowhere, when Russ and Kev bounce, you're left with drafting and trading - trying to get the best player possible.

The owner of your team is so greedy, he let Harden go for chump change...if that's any indication of what OKC's going to do in the near future, you can kiss what is known as OKC Thunder goodbye.
