Vinny del negro was a good regular season coach. Playoff time he had no set plays and his substitutions were so suspect. I still don't know why he would keep one of his top scorers out of an elimination game when the game was still very winnable. Most of the plays he ran were ISO or pick n roll. The first month doc rivers was here you could tell the he was actually teaching the clippers something.

Exactly. Well said. Just because a guy sounds like he knows the game on TV, it doesn't tell you what he can do as a coach in terms of player management, motivation and in-game adjustments.
