phil is a big name who has chips to prove it. doesnt matter that he is unproven as an executive. free agents will want to be associated with him regardless of him never being a gm. knicks have not been associated with "winning" in years, at least phil brings that. he is gonna turn that franchise around, and real quick.

You know what @JJ Watt, that's me just wanting to dump on you for ******** on the Knicks all the damn time and not seeing you said next year :lol

You have my apologies.

Phil can do the Pat Riely when he wants to sign players and show them all his rings

Phil brings them creditability in the front office.

That's his value.

By what he's done as a coach? That makes a lot of sense
laugh.gif

Not like coaching and being in the front office are different or anything.

All the talk about him since he's signed on with NY has been about the triangle offense, ************* still think he's a coach.
That can be said for anyone that makes the leap into something new with no prior experience. His success as a coach leads people to believe that he wlll be competent as a GM.

Pat also does the everyday work like scouting and attending games.

Phil said in his presser he's not handling scouting and he'll be coming in and out of New York from LA. Like, what? :lol

Ol boy said "I don't know" :lol :lol

How are you the president of basketball operations, and NOT know if you're going to be involved in scouting college prospects?

Pat Riley till this day, is out on the road with Keith Askins, and Tim Hardaway scouting NCAA prospects.

You guys don't get what I'm saying.

I just think it's ridiculous that a 5 year 60 M is given to a dude who isn't a coach or a player. I don't care who the team is or who the person is.

millions of people struggling out in the USA and this old **** gets paid 12 million a season to do what? Try to make the Knicks relevant again? Team has 0 chance of winning a title in his 5 years unless the Heat and Pacers planes crash.

:rollin :{

just sad.

that's all.

proceed.

I'm saying, I see Pat Riley more than any other executive in the L, he must be a vampire because he doesn't sleep.

Phil going to send Dolan a handwritten letter once a month with herbal tea recommendations, continue to count his money and smash Jeanie Buss

Knicks=Cubs in terms of losing
Knicks=Cowboys in terms of coverage and losing (to be fair at least Dallas has won 3 SBs in my lifetime)

Even the good moves the Knicks make turn bad and fail hilariously. As long as Dolan is there I have no faith in them. Unless he has a Donald Sterling type turn around.

What exactly does Phil do to boost their value?

As if the Knicks weren't already a billion dollar organization that sells out every game even with a sub par team and bad management

I'd understand if he was coaching but Mike Woodson is still coach, roster is still ******, still no picks, still Dolan. You saying free agents will want to come to NY now more than they already did? No way to prove that

They going to start selling his jersey?

what value does having one of the brightest minds and most respected coaches in your day to day operations have on your franchise??????

Is that the question here... Ask the heat how Pat Riley has helped.

We covered that already my man, look at the last couple previous posts, Riley & Phil ain't the same.

But I guess it makes sense, Phil is the only one in the organization that was involved in their last championship :hat

A.D.'s last six games:

32.2 points per (57.9%, 87.1% - 194 points on 121 shots)
14.3 rebounds
2.8 assists
3.0 blocks

The best shot-blocker/one of the best rebounders in the world has also made 33 consecutive free throws, so that's a little frightening.

Oh, and always important: He turned 21 seven days ago.

He is renown for knowing the game of basketball in & out. He can and will sit down with star players and help with solutions. so although he may not be at every game scouting you can rest assure that he will have a very validated pick on who's scouting for him, what kind of coaches are hired, and how to handle superstar players.

The guy has been a winner at every level of basketball and knows what works and what doesn't work as far as how an organization is run. The biggest accomplishment is that his name and rep is big enough to keep dolan away from trying to mix his way into ****. How is it not visible how these traits can help a team.

Kid is frighteningly good. and quite frankly the Pelicans need to do EVERYTHING in there power to start building a contendor in these next two years.

He'll be unstoppable in 2 years. The free throws don't surprise me seeing how he's basically a guard in a centers body.

The leap Davis will make next season is going to be even scarier than the leap he made this past season.

Folks in here laughed at me earlier this year when I said AD is on his way to being Minny KG with better shot blocking, jokes on y'all :lol

He's on his way to being the best offensive PF in the league by 23 as long as he stays healthy. When he adds that consistent 3 pointer it's curtains.

You can already consider him the best if you care about defense

We looking at you Blake/Love 8o

The Lakers will find a way to get AD and continue the legacy of Laker big men. I started typing this as a joke but now that I think about it...

Yo licensed to ball licensed to ball I didn't even see your post before I wrote this. Lol
