You amnesty him, free up 30 mil this year in cap, and then what? No matter who you signed, you were still going to be lottery bound. So what exactly makes that the smartest move?

One max contract does not hurt the Lakers going forward. Same way it didn't hurt them before. They got still room for another max and role players as always. Rockets v. Bulls could be interesting today. Very contrasting styles. Match up of two of the best centers in the game, but whose games are not at all alike.

As for the 2nd TNT game, I expect the Thunder to crush the Lakers as pay back for last week.
