Do you honestly believe Pop isn't a great coach and that he's only relevant because of Parker and Duncan? I understand coaches go as far as their players...but look at how Pop gets 100% effort from his players every night. Don't tell me everyone was thinking "Dynasty" when Manu and Parker were drafted 99.9% of fans including me have never ever even heard of them. He's been relevant and winning for 10+ years even during the years they were considered bad, they still made the playoffs. Look at his roster right now...Duncan, Tony, and Manu they aren't even averaging career numbers they are in the back end of their careers and yet they still manage to have the 3rd best record in the league. The thing with Pop is, it's easy to be a fantastic coach and plug in guys seamlessly when you have Parker and Duncan.
thats my baby we could role play and live life like love and basketballwhy do you have an avy of Sydney Colson?
This. Yall know we are comparing a GUARD and a FORWARD right? I've seen LeBron fans outside of NT use stats even to claim he's better than Jordan because he rebounds more. I'd expect a forward to grab more boards obviously...The only thing you can't knock on Lebron is his ability to pass.every Lebron supporter usually leads with stats. if you can't outstat him, no way you're winning an argument. anybody whose taken a statistics class or even is cognizant in normal life can tell you stats always have to have context
I mean there probably are other players who have done that, yes. KG maybe? Those parameters are pretty loose.Brons a beast. Has anyone ever had a jump like him between his first and second year and managed to not only maintain it, but become even more efficient for the next 10 years?

Looks like he had his pivot foot down after all. Unless I'm missing out on something because that blondie in the back is "eff you ref".
I think your sentiment was understood when the list was made in '97
I never liked the LBJ vs MJ debate....though both leaders on the team the roles were diff. Thats like comparing John Stockton and David Robinson. Another reason I dont like the NBA 50 Best Players. That list is constantly everchanging. Once Paul George gets on that list, if he ever makes it, who will he knock out?? Another guard/forward? Or a Center? Its just a stupid list
lol Looks like she says NO F'n WAY!Looks like he had his pivot foot down after all. Unless I'm missing out on something because that blondie in the back is"eff you ref".
Stevens is just one of those guys who's been anointed as a good coach for some reason. So he'll carry that reputation for a while. Because no one in the media/fan side seems to actually have any idea what coaches actually do or who is good and bad.
Look at Doc Rivers. People were mocking him, Bill Simmons writing about how he is one of the worst coaches in the league. A few years later he's on some elite level.
Tom Thibodeau is called a genius despite never winning anything significant as a head coach and only being able to coach one side of the ball. Meanwhile D'antoni is slammed for only coaching offense despite having one of the great non-championship winning runs with the Suns.
Last year Knick fans were loving Mike Woodson, now they hate him.
Jeff Van Gundy is remembered as an amazing coach even though his teams were always offensively clueless and he was never even close to a championship outside of one miracle run where his team got dominated in the finals. Meanwhile Stan rarely gets mentioned despite building a far more complete and unique style of team in Orlando.
People just decide if they like the look of a guy and go from there.

we just won last nights game because the play exploited the fact that lamarcus is too slow to cover wes johnson thoughIn all fairness Dantoni is a bad coach because of the relationships he has with his players... I've never been a fan of the coach publicly leaving his players out to dry & not being able to control a locker room. He just strikes me as a guy who creates a power conflict with the players and really ruins any kind of chemistry. He also doesn't like to adapt.Stevens is just one of those guys who's been anointed as a good coach for some reason. So he'll carry that reputation for a while. I think what makes a good coach is being able to adjust on the fly and putting your players in the best position to exceed. Dantoni can have a million well designed plays it doesn't matter if the plays don't exploit the strengths of the players running them.
