i've got some idea changes for my draft reform i'd like some input on:
my idea was initially that all players were eligible to be drafted out of high school, but if they went to a d1 they had to stay 3 years. or they could go to juco for 1 year. then i though, what's the incentive to go juco if you just declare out of high school. here's my new idea to fix that
all players are eligible to be drafted out of high school, however, a player must be at least 1 year removed from high school before he can play in an NBA game. if the player decides he would like to do that, he would be drafted and would play in the NBDL for at least 1 full season before becoming eligible for the NBA.
if a player decides to go to JUCO, he is eligible after his first full JUCO season to be drafted. upon being drafted, it is up to the team whether or not the player will be assigned to the NBA roster, or their NBDL affiliate.
if a player goes to a d1 university, he must remain at that level for 3 seasons before declaring for the NBA draft. again, this player would be assigned to the NBA roster or NBDL affiliate at the team's discretion.
thoughts?
