tell me again what happened in the finals that year.

anyone who does not think that losing Lamar isn't a big deal for the lakers knows little about NBA basketball.

^ Agreed. Even if Lamar doesn't show up statistically, the defense has to put in a lot of effort to cover him. That alone makes him close to irreplaceable.

^ Well Put, LO Put In Serious Work

Def Did His Job When Pau Was On The Bench,

His D Is Appreciated , Gave A Load Of Trouble To Orlando

Like I Have Said Before I Will Most Def Love To Have Him Back But Im Not Losing Sleep Over It

Lakers cannot afford David Lee. He's asking for too much money. The only reason why the Lakers can pay Odom "alot" of money (talking about theprevios deal of 3&30) is because he is their own player. If he leaves, i believe they can only use the veteran's minimum. Besides even if the Lakerscould afford Lee, he doesn't do the things Lamar brings to the table WHEN HE WANTS TO PLAY :LOL

I understand but what doesn't make sense is the fact that majority of his businesses are in the Los Angeles area... from his restaurant to his

clothing line.

Like I said leaving the Lakers to go to the Heat doesn't make sense.... HOW DOES HE KNOW DWAYNE IS EVEN GOING TO STAY!

It would be funny if Dwayne leaves next year and takes less to play for the Lakers (I know I'm dreaming).

, i'm sure he got businesses in South Beach too or inMiami. And yes Odom is not the smartest dude out there . I mean he inbounded the ball to himself
And now back to the Odom watch
When I left town on Wednesday I had a strong feeling the Odom situation would be resolved by the time I got back Saturday afternoon. Just a feeling.

Much like the first few rounds of the Lakers playoff run, I no longer will be having any hunches, predictions or feelings about the L.O. situation until it's finally settled.

Mostly this process has been like listening to an endless loop of ``nature sounds and crickets'' on one of those noise machines that help you sleep, interrupted by flurries of activity at unpredictable moments.

Saturday's main developments included a pitch from Miami frontman Dwyane Wade via his Twitter feed which (unlike the bogus Kobe Bryant twitters that have caused some buzz this week, is actually a verified account): ``This is for Lamar Odom...come back to where it started for the both of us..the franchise u help build back up wants u to End it all here.''

That preceded by a couple of hours a report from Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski that Odom was ``leaning strongly toward accepting'' the Heat's five-year, $34 million offer and leaving the Lakers.

Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel (Fla.) has a nice breakdown of the situation from a South Florida perspective, but doesn't go out on as long of a limb as Woj.

At this stage in the search though, everyone would be better off hiring `The Mentalist' or bringing Gil Grissom out of retirement to figure out how this is all going to turn out. Theories and facts change from day to day.

Will Dwyane Wade's pleas work?

Does Odom just want to feel wanted?

Does the fact that Heat president Pat Riley was heading for Los Angeles mean anything? Or was Riley just heading home?

Odom mentioned during the Finals that he likes humidity... does that mean he likes South Florida better than L.A.?

As you can tell, this whole saga has been dragged out so long even us sportswriters are at a loss for words.

Maybe its becasue I am a fan I don't understand. It seems simple to me. You just won a chip and the team wants you back. You had a 3/30 mil deal which wasthe money you wanted but you want to play for less for a team that IMO just is not ready for a chip?

I got an e-mail from a friend in MIA and he is telling me LO will sign the MLE monday.

Screw you Lamar.....SCREW YOU. You are stupid.

this is getting old

I really could give a %++* now what happens with Odom, I've accepted the fact that he will most likely not be in LA next season

Well, if true... I guess money is more important to him than winning another championship.

What will another mill in MIA give him that he can't get in LA?

ODUMB WILL SHOCK THE WORLD ON MONDAY, WHEN HE SIGNS WITH THE WASHINGTON GENERALS!

It aint over till its over, as of now he hasn't singed anywhere. Lets just hope for the best.

leave already!

you're dead to me

3 stars and Bynum should be enough to win another title

if you have Kobe, Gasol, Artest, Bynum is the starting lineup, all the other pieces are just role players that will fall into place

LO would almost guarantee a chip, but we can still win it without him because of our 3 stars + Bynum

--We need Odom.
--The Spurs, Mavericks are locked ad RELOADED.
--Lakers can make it to the WCF. Odom is only one man, and makes a little bit of difference. But those differences add up.
--So long Lamar.

I really didn't think it would come down to this.... I could swear he was coming back.... no way we lose both guys I said (trevor and lamar). How quicklywe came down from the championship rush, we couldn't even enjoy it through-out the whole summer

you guys make me laugh. all a sudden odom is a god. guy doesnt even show up every night. hes a huge reason we lost to the celtics in 08 due to his inconsistentplay.

he played well against a weaker team in orlando in a contract year. would it be good if hes still on the team? ofcourse. but you guys acting like its the endof the world.

u wouldnt do an artest for odom trade? yea right. u wouldnt trade an intense warrior who gives you his all everynight for an inconsistent pothead? lol yearight.

and ariza was a product of stars around him. it was no coincidence he had his best year here...

Listen man. I understand what youre saying.

BUT........we were waaaaaaay ahead of San Antonio and Dallas last season.

With the changes DAL and SA made this offseason, they have moved closer to our level. But they haven't surpassed us.

We hav 3 star players AND a great young center. Having Odom would make it unfair almost

My point is, we are still the best in the West if Odom leaves for Miami.

The only concern is Boston, Cleveland and Orlando.

And, to be honest, I don't see a team of Kobe, Gasol, Artest and Bynum (assuming all healthy) losing to any team in the NBA. That's just too muchtalent.

Instead of breezing through the playoffs in 2010 with LO, now we might have to fight a little harder like we did this past season.

So true, i think he stayed in the locker room the entire finals.......

Still thats the past, cant negotiate based on 2 seasons ago......

Hell no i wouldnt trade LO for ARTEST, dont try & act like ARTEST doesnt have his downside as well....

Now all of a sudden hes a model player, he almost went nuts on KOBE last year....

it's not about being the " intense warrior " ...it's about who fits better for the team.. injuries or no injuries (Drew)

you dont have to be a deep team to win it all..just as long everybody does theyre role...phil jackson teams usually dont have deep teams anyway with theexception of that bulls 91 team and this 2009 team...we still have other guys that can do damage
