2009-10 adidas Basketball thread

Well, Blazer, none of these other dead-beat sites will step up and make me a Mod, so I try to do what I can. J/K. Thanks for the words. Now I just need someone to pay me to do it.

Yeah man I'd be all over the billups colorway. Awesome review. I have no idea how you got the ankle wraps on with them though. I have to go braceless when playing with these. LOVE EM

Those are just regular McDavid lace-ups, but I managed to get them in there. I really never wear them either unless I have an injury, and then it is just until I quit hurting. Thanks for the feedback guys.

am I the only one that noticed all the colorways released for the Supernatural Commander+Creator are P.E's. why no GR colorways?

Wow.

Just got finished playing in these for over 2 hours, and i'm very impressed. The out of the box feel and flexibility of these is incredible! I've always liked a flexible yet supportive shoe, and this shoe has hit the jackpot for me! Lately i've been running in Jordan 2010's and honestly, i'm in love with these and will have to put those on hold for a while. I might have to go ahead and order another pair of these.

Question though, what's the main difference between the Creator and Commander? Is there that much of a difference in the slasher vs big man shoe? I might get a pair of commanders instead of another pair of creators right now.

Easily the most impressive shoe OUT OF THE BOX i've ever worn.

What are these?

^^^ They're actually the Mad Climas, or something along those lines. The main physical difference between them is the strap at the forefoot and that square thingy on the side. Pretty slick-looking shoe and the color is bomb.

@ Crazy EBW: Exactly the same way I felt. I told you they wouldn't disappoint.

And some of the differences I noticed between the Supernat Commanders and Creators are

1) The Creators are a few ounces lighter
2) Although they're lighter, the Creator sacrifices just in tiny bit of cushioning around the ankles. Also, the tongue isn't really cushioned, unlike the one in the Commanders.
3) High cut on Commanders gives more support to the ankles (I think), which isn't always a good thing if you have some knee problems. They wouldn't make it bothersome though.
5) I think the placing of the pods on the heel also makes the way they aid movement different. They are very grippy and hugs the court floor. The pod on the heel of the Commander is centered but leaning more towards the back end of the heel, which would probably aid in stopping coming from a high speed (as you use your heel to stop, right?) and maybe in back to the basket play. For the Creators, the pod on the heel leans more toward the inner side of the foot, which would probably help you in making cuts and other sharp lateral movements. Here's a pic to compare the soles.

Hope this helped.

@ Duke: I don't know why my post isn't showing up on ISS, but anyway, it was an awesome review. Very informative and it did help me understand the concept of FYW more and how it was with the older shoes.

Glad I could help, Pocket. When the first FYW came out, it really opened some minds and eyes on how shoes were supposed to work. Maybe these can start that back up.

Some more info on the differences - Pocket is right on on the pods. The heel pod in the Commander is set centered for a stable base in post play, more balance. The Creator is moved into the medial side to assist on cuts and lateral movements (like the Formotion in the Lightning and TS last year). The weight is a little heavier on the Commanders, but not enough to really hinder play, They are definitely cut higher ( I wish they would release in the Garnett cut, if you have seen that). Ankle padding on the Commanders is thicker. The main difference in performance comes in the fact the plate the pods are connected to is two piece on the Creators, lending to increased flexibility and motion-transition feel. The Commanders is all one piece from heel to toe, leading to slightly stiffer, supportive, stable base.

But I am with you, Crazy, I love the Creators, but I want a pair of Commanders next.

I hope that the FYW inspiration keeps moving thru all the upcoming designs that adidas puts out. It would be a dream come true!

A somewhat dated question, but I figured I'd ask as Smooth is still wearing these kicks. Did this colourway ever release? I know the White/Blue-Gold was released, but I had never seen this colourway for sale...

@ Blazers21NTNP: Yeah, I think I remember seeing that in an Adidas store before.

Well, just thought I'd put it out here. I was thinking of selling my Bounce Commanders and my Illrahnas, and I was thinking of getting a pair of the Supernat Commanders. However, Iunno, I'm kinda thinking it'll be little bit painful for my pocket (hehe, I love my username; it's so fitting), so I was thinking I'd just pick up a pair of the LTs at a discounted price. Anyone agree or would you say go for the Supernats? I just want an alternate colorway aside form my black Creators. My Lightspeeds (Chauncey's) are currently doing that, although I haven't used them in a while as the sole is also getting demolished. Still one of the best Adidas shoes I've ever used, but then I think it needs a replacement as an alternate shoe. What do I do?!? :O

You know, I wonder.... Have any of the Adidas sponsored players tried wearing the Equations on the court?
