#1 Of The Post Jordan Era: Shaq or Duncun

Again I do not see how ANYONE can LOGICALLY pick Kobe over either Shaq OR Duncun.

u guys are ridiculous

maybe in a couple of years kobe will surpass duncan and shaqs acheivements

but as of today shaq and duncan have been more dominant since jordan left

and out of the two I'm picking shaq

i mean come on duncan doesnt compare

hes a great player but we're talkin about shaq here

mike, wilt, and shaq are the most dominant players to ever play in the nba

all three of these guys impact goes way beyond numbers

close thread please before someone becomes pregnant wit kobes kid.

it a fact that its duncan

just that fact that duncan shaq kobe are the most peoples top 3 players in the last 10 years proves it to be fact. in case you dont know shaq kobe 3 rings sameteam, duncan has won 4 with less talent around him. he has not played with a player playing at the level of shaq or kobe or wade.

its fact that duncans spurs knocked off the defending champion lakers with both shaq and kobe in the top 5 in MVP voting

in case you didnt understand that Duncan's spurs with only one allstar knocked out the lakers defending champions who had two allstars, two players thatwere top 5 in MVP voting. thats UNHEARD OF. how many times in the history of the league have teammates who were top 5 in MVP voting lost to a team with oneallstar.

that year in the in the playoffs TD lead his team in points, rebs, asst and blocks the lazzy bum failed to lead is team in steals, in fact no player scoredover 15 a game that year in playoffsfor the spurs only TD did. game 6 to win the championship TD only had 21 points, 20 rebs 10asst 8 blocks.

twice TD's spurs have knocked out the defending champions from the playoffs.

how many times has Shaq been swept out the playoffs now?

and i forgot TD only one season in his career has he not finished top 5 in MVP voting think about that for a min

take into account that he has no ego, no player ever would have a problem playing with him. i would love artest to go the spurs see how he plays.

I still think that TD would have one more MVP trophy if the media didn't consider his game and style boring.

^ ONE more? I think he'd have 2 or 3 more.

If a player comes into the league at the same time Duncan did, but he is flashy (like LeBron) or a media darling (like Shaq), and he puts up the EXACT samenumbers as Duncan has to this point, winning the same number of title nd everything, I think that guy would have at least 4 MVPs right now.

TD IMO is a very underrated. He always gets overlooked when people talk about the best NBA players but all he does is win.

I eliminate Shaq because of free-throw shooting. I eliminate Kobe because of his lack of getting his own ring (regardless of Shaq having DWayde or not).

I HATE the Spurs (Houston fan here) so have no doubts that this is not biased. If Duncan had a less boring game, 99.5% of you wouldn't have a doubt in yourmind it's him. He is the all around go-to guy and the Spurs are literally the dynasty of our times. No other team has sustained this long. Lakers did itthree times and went downhill quick. Detroit isn't focused enough. Yet, the Spurs are ALWAYS a contender. Coincidence?

I never have been and never will be a Shaq fan so maybe there IS some bias to my argument, but I take everything into account. The free throw shooting is aMAJOR negative to Shaq's "dominance", but Shaq's numerous encounters with the media conveniently timed when he is off to a new city has leftme salty about him. The same could be said for Kobe at times.

What BAD things like these can you say about Duncan?

As much as I'm a fan of Shaq, Shaq has been doing great after Jordan retired, but given the last 2 seasons he hasn't been consistent.

As much as I hate the Spurs, Duncan has been sensational all throughout his career so far, so I'll take Timmy.

lol @ eliminating Shaq because of FT shooting is foolish
But I agree it plays a part. O'Neal is one of the greatest of all time....but it's sad to watch hack-a-shaq every year in crunch time andhim often times even have to be pulled from the game.

It's Duncan IMO because of what his team has accomplished. He has been a rock for a decade now and continues to be underrated.

The thing that's very interesting about the FT shooting thing is that Timmy's not a great FT shooter, either. But he DOES make them at the end of thegame. Shaq said a few years ago in L.A. that he makes them when it counts' sometimes that's true, but most times it's not. But Timmy virtuallynever misses a late game free throw, despite being a career .684 free throw shooter.

it's ok, you're only 16 so you were in diapers when MJ won his second title.

It's only a matter of time when somebody 10 years from now will say that Rudy Gay the third is better than Kobe Bryant.

Shaq FTW

It's obviously Duncan.. Shaq was more dominant between 1999 and 2002 than Duncan, but overall since Jordan's retirement, it's Duncan.
