Basically my take also. As a big Drake fan I also still rock with Kendrick and a blind man could see Drake took the L this year. This lawsuit is a terrible look though and I'm interested to see how he tries to bounce back. Wonder if they have pushed back the PND collab album at this point?!

He mentioned the PND collaboration album is about 75% done. I'm guessing it'll be 2025 by the time we see it.

3 people/owners own rights to all streaming music and get paid heavily off of it. Drake is signed to one of the people and Kendrick is the other. Drake has pissed of the trio in the past when he signed that Apple deal. The 3 people got together and said they will cook the numbers so when Drake goes into negotiations they can say we can’t pay you more than Kendrick cause look at these numbers…..Drake is calling BS cause it’s in his best interest to get the most out of his next contract.
This is not about the beef it’s about the 3 owners using streams to low ball artist
it would be illegal as hell if Nike, Addidas, and Puma worked together to low ball an athlete for a shoe contract

So let me get this straight. The label conspired to ruin drakes image and reputation so they could sign him to a cheaper deal after killing his popularity? And then what? Build his reputation back up after he signs a new deal? Seems like a reach.

Naw what I’m saying is Drake is up for a deal and they trying to manipulate streaming numbers to find out what is Drakes value. If they inflate Kendrick’s numbers they can use Kendrick’s contract and say he should get paid less than him.

I'm not invested in this, but I don't think anyone would take the massive PR hit that comes with it if they didn't know they had a chance of winning. It looks really bad.

Yeah he is positioning himself to obtain information that will prove what he is worth in streams..data that the music industry has manipulated to screw artists for decades. If he obtains the paperwork he is looking for he will have enough leverage for billion dollar contract or stake within a company.
The headlines love to skew and misdirect what is going on.
Drake will soon get a number amount to how much his catalog his worth and he will take said amount and negotiate a new deal.
They will be forced to hand over that amount because of this lawsuit.
