I get the general idea of what he is trying to say but so many fall within the two styles and of course certain folks will take it as a A > B type of thing.

I mean I get guys fall within styles..

but I’m trying get how the guys listed fit together

like I would group KG with Stockton.. then klay and Duncan together, with KD sometimes being with them.. Young KG I’d group with giannis, with AI sometimes in that group (because dude was athletic as hell on top of the speed/quickness)

Scoring 60 points on 11 dribbles seems pretty “instinctual” to me, but what do I know? I don’t do hot takes on the Twitters.

One of the (many) Fake AIs from the NCAA in the 00s

Who was the best fake AI?

Trey Burke?
Bobby Maze? (Speaking of which, Sherron Collins said he used to want to cook Bobby Maze on sight)

im sayin..

with Duncan, klay and KD dudes could just make the shh look soo effortless and on both sides of the court.. not saying all don’t work hard.. but those are easily my top 3 picks for “instinctually“ playing basketball

TD ain't a hooper because he thinks about swimming before hoops when he wakes up according to Perk 🤣

I think some of RP's examples have people questioning his overall point.

I think dudes at certain levels (HOFers) have to be hoopers.

This convo is better suited for midcarders, not high level players.

If it doesn’t apply to everyone, it’s a pointless distinction.

He’s just trying to make his personal preferences for certain players and styles of play into something bigger than it really is.

KD, loves that HOOPER talk.

It’s why Paul George was overrated fir years, before the internet caught on and started piling on and he became underrated.

This the type of stuff that led to tweets like this:

Those cats got an affinity for BROTHERS that are AAU ball players, that can handle it, make ISO buckets, and snarl. Barbershop stuff.

it’s all perception

i mean there is a convo to be had, but you gotta explain that shh better and can’t just throw out those examples and talking about instinctual

AI was a hell of an athlete and had handles, even after his injuries he still had his quickness but I wouldn’t define dude‘s game as instinctual.. or I wouldn’t lump KG and Jamal Crawford into instinctual either

but if you defined guys who were/are great passers in that manner, then i completely get it.. like how magic and Jason Kidd were able to be so far ahead of things with regard to where everyone else was on the floor and where they were going to be and make certain passes

 I guess Lue was a "fake" Iverson. Different complexion, so I never counted him.

My Top 3 has to be

Bobby Maze
Trey Iverson
Rashad Phillips
