The stats on the biggest stage in 2017 and 2018 skew incredibly in KD's favor. I personally feel like that deserves a bit more weight given what happened in 2016, but I understand there could be an argument otherwise.

Perfect pairing though.

I mean....we knew the series was over after 2 games :lol. Steph was averaging like 30ppg in 2018 through the first two...including the go ahead bucket with 20 seconds left or something in game one...the only one that was close. While KD struggled from the floor. Game 3 KD shut the door in outstanding fashion. And game 4, was a gone ahead conclusion, in which Steph was gunning for 40, and KD a triple double feeding it to him :lol

2017 finals was a smidge closer...but KD was better. We cannot ignore KD going one on one against Richard Jefferson and open in transition while the Cavs sold out to trap Steph or run to him to give up dunks unseats off 3s.....And he still averaged 27/9/8.

What we do know is...Steph led his team to the finals and won in 2015. Steph led his team to the finals in 2016 and beat KD/Russ etc on the way there and lost in 7. Steph led his team to the finals without KD in 2019.

All of that data is there. We watched it in real time.

The last two times Bron has been in the playoffs... he’s been the best player and also thoroughly outplayed Steph in the 2016 finals so yeah...

This where you lose me.

Its really not that hard. LeBron regressed slightly, while those guys were smack dab in their primes, and going after it day in and day out. That’s not to take away from LeBron. He’s a better all time player than them easily. The last couple years tho...they had the ups on him.

Shoot, James Harden was better than LeBron in 2018. Anthony Davis in 2020.

But whatevs.

Has the terms alpha and beta been brought up? What about ceiling raiser and floor raiser?

2017 Finals:
KD 35/8/5 on 56/48/93
Wardell 27/8/9 on 44/39/90

2018 Finals:
KD 29/11/8 on 53/41/97
Wardell 28/6/7 on 41/42/100

What fantasy are y'all living in where this is close? There was zero argument for Wardell.

4 to 5 game sample sizes...where one goes nuclear in a game 3 or 4 of a decided series.

You want to go game by game? I think Steph was better in 2018. KD was better in 2017.

The real finals was the WCF anyway.

There is no THEY. KD was the only one that legitimately was getting the ground swell of support for BITW. Wardell had his chance in 16 and blew it.

Tatum had 40+ & WON the game and i saw maybe one highlight package.... the thread for the next day & a half was Curry adulation & highlights can we please retire this narrative that he somehow isn't appreciated enough

I didn't even want to get into it because I try to avoid Steph Curry arguments, but Steph had 3 more points on 2 more shots. Tatum had 3 more boards, 2 more steals, 3 fewer turnovers, was +12 to Steph's -7, and his team got the W.

And a bunch of people were scoffing when erupt said Tatum had a better game. And I know what the counter argument is. The Celtics at times threw a double team at him 30 feet from the hoop to get the ball out of his hands. Steph warps the floor in ways that aren't captured in the box score. Ok fine, that's a fair point. It still isn't some insane thing to say that Tatum had a better game that night.

KD was better on both ends. I saw it with my own eyes.
Can't convince me otherwise. Like I said, KD was better, but he needed Steph & Co.
He's still a weirdo, but them facts.

KD got cooked by Bron in game 1 in 2018. And he shot 8/22. And struggled.

Steph had an efficient 29, hit the go ahead bucket and locked up Bron down the stretch. And then, hit an nba record 9 3s in game 2. Including 5/5 and walking down Perk :lol

The Warriors learned from the 2016 finals and adjusted their defense with the LeBron hunting Curry stuff. It didn’t work this time. They took a better defensive approach

2017....KD was literally playing 1 on 1 against RJ. Classic case of being a POINT GUARD. It’s comical...y’all can rationalize Chris Paul scoring less than Blake Griffin or Devin Booker...but leading the team as the floor general. But cannot see Steph Curry doing the same for Kevin Durant.

I know you a reasonable cat...and I’m not trying to say these cats were outplaying each other drastically or something. But got damn, actually revisit and look at what was happening.

Y’all still don’t understand Steph impact outside of what you see today.

Thought Steph was going to win FMVP in 2018 after two games, but he had a "bad" game three I think.
Steve was awful in Game 3 (11 pts on 3-16 shooting and a 0 net rating) and KD was incredible (43 on 15-23 shooting and a +15 net rating).

KD had a +25 net rating for the series and Steve was +2. Not the be all end all by any means, but does say something. Bron had a 0 net rating even though his team got swept

A big part of KD's numbers was the defensive focus on Steph. We saw it in 2017, the cavs were giving KD wide open shots to double Steph. Hell I'll never forget the play where it was a Steph & KD fast break with one defender back and Steph went to the corner and he ran to Steph and let KD dunk it

Bad game is an understatement. Try worst playoff game shooting ever. And that was the only real right game in the series.
