See...I wasn't sure either because it should be Steph but on First Take, they discussed it as if he listed them in order. To support their point, when KD amended his list he said "Oh yeah, Russ. I'm going to put Russ on there ahead of Klay." which kind of implies it was in order.

I'm not reading too much into it either way but was I curious if there was a case for Kyrie or Jim aside from them being his current teammates.
Gotta protect Kyrie and Hardens fragile egos

 So few people understand this.

Many nights I stayed in the office, not because I had work to do. I just didn't want to go home, when I had everything I needed in the office.
A lot more companies should understand this. It's a great way to entice people to work late. Since I've already talked about my mother so much, before she met my father and had me she had no furniture in her apartment, just a bed. She payed rent for somewhere to sleep, she LIVED at the office. The firm payed for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She could eat whatever she wanted, wherever she wanted or have it delivered. Just had to be on company time in a cushy *** office. And then they had a cab company on retainer to take you wherever you wanted to go for free when you were done working, so she wouldn't leave until like 2am.

Some companies take it too far though, where they make inconsequential **** their main draw, usually tech companies. I once interviewed at a place that was telling me all its perks and benefits and they're mentioning **** like ping pong, a foosball table, snacks, and I'm sitting there like "A 401K? Health insurance? Dental, vision?". They were talking to me like I was a fresh teenage college dropout

A lot of tech startups hire MBA's to run their companies. That's nothing new.

I agree with all this. Obviously you're not speaking this way to people you're not comfortable being around. Or else why hire them in the first place? Finance is known to have some of the most stringent hiring processes around. You go through several rounds of interviews which lasts hours and won't fully wrap up until a few weeks out. At that point, you know who you're working with and if there's a "culture fit".

I think for the large investment banks and Hedge Funds , this issue of abuse will constantly persist. The culture is too entrenched for there to be immediate change. Smaller firms, or Private Equity firms operate a little differently. Thing's are more relaxed and the group's are smaller/tighter.

I started a Private Equity firm a few years back. We grown from 4 employees to about 35 within the span of a 6 years. Never had an issue with "disrespecting" my employee until now. The kid is a Gen Z'er
Interview culture is also nonsense.

I had 33 interviews to get my job... THIRTY THREE. Just getting grilled to death in almost all of them. My worst one was with the same guy who did the "Work comes first thing", who I am now super tight with now that we don't work with each other anymore..

Guy walks into the room. Doesn't say anything at the start, and just starts rattling off questions. It was maybe 30 questions. didn't ask me about my resume or anything.

Then we had the interview and at the end he says "I hope you were taking notes because those questions you got wrong or didn't have any answers to, I want answers by the end of the day"

I rush home, scramble to find the answers, send it off by 5, guy comes back with... THIS:

I end up getting the job and assigned to his team. One day in like November we're sitting there working and he turns to me and says "You know... You're lucky that I vouched for you to get this job, because your resume was pure Sh___"

I really try and keep it chill when I interview, I just talk to people. If I'm gonna have to spend 13 hours a day with you I have to make sure that I can stand you. None of this "How would you escape a blender if you were trapped in said blender" nonsense

To me, this is more putting hands on someone worthy than being called a baby *****. :lol

:{

**** like this would have easily lead to a physical altercation at my dad's workplace

Beat the brakes off that man under the West Indian sun, and when you are finished, make him go buy you a roti and malt for lunch.

Tech interviews are pure bs too but you can definitely BS the interview and get away with it

Except Google :smh: studied night and day for that **** just to be asked to whiteboard code in a language I didn’t even specify. *****z had me studying all of Java in 4 weeks and then said “Code this in C my guy while I watch YouTube videos”

That's probably what a month and a hlaf- two month hiring process? Waste of time if you ask me.

Did you like this guy or working for him?

Hated working for him, like him as a person when work wasn't really involved. He's the same guy that I've told all these work stories about today. And that's not the extent of it. He's just really engrained on the old way stuff moved

15 of them were in one day but yeah. I didn't even live in NYC at the time so I was catching flights back and forth on my own dime cause I didn't wan't to tell them I don't live there and they reject me.

One day I got back to where I was staying at getting ready to fly back home and they call me "Can you come back tomorrow" canceled flight lost bread, disaster.

They ended up paying me back once they found out the truth but still.
