Pretty sure Beal put up 30ppg last year also & the Wizards won a whopping 25 games.......
I’m not really sure how much he’ll actually play if/when the team is ever fully healthy, but it’s definitely nice to have someone off the bench that can do stuff offensively other than stand in the corner. Brad has usually gotten the best out of role players like that in the past and turned them into solid contributors. Bench might actually go from worst in the league to somewhat good with Fournier/Parker/Thompson. Romeo and Grant can defend. Pritchard can come in and do some stuff too.
For sure. Mid-range and interior scoring is something that he’s been able to do at a pretty high level since he first stepped in the league. He’s struggled with all the other stuff. As an 8th man though, that’s really all he’s going to be asked to do. Everybody else on the team has no problem bombing away from 3. And they can surround him with some pretty solid defenders. The time they threw it to Jabari in the post and he scored on Loony had to be encouraging. C’s don’t really have anyone other than JT or JB with that capability. Not that they could do a lot of it, but still something of value.
The Washington Wizards were actually 24-40 (.375 winning percentage) at the time of the hiatus in March 2020. Bradley Beal decided to to participate in the Bubble and the Wizards went 1-7. That was good enough for 10th in the East in the 2019-2020 season but they did not make the playoffs as the rule was the 9-seed needed to be within 4 games of the 8-seed for a play-in game.
At the time of this post, The Wizards are 22-33 (0.411) which is good for 11th seed in the East which currently puts them out of the play-in picture. So yes, Beal is putting up 30+ again, his team swapped and IT2/Ish Smith/Shabazz Napier with Russ and as they got about 2 games better and still not in the playoffs.
Cool. Again, man. I have nothing against the guy. Most athletic PG of all-time and in the Top 10 for his position. Does wonderful things for the community. Beautiful family. Life champion. Y’all Russ Stans just keep trying to paint him as something he’s not at this point of his career. Yes, he has pretty stat lines and the occasional highlight dunk but that’s where it stops.
He’s not elevating teams like soon-to-be 36 y/o Chris Paul or carrying scrubs like 33 y/o Steph. He’s just a 32 y/o getting triple doubles and dragging down the offense when he’s on the court.
it’s gotten to the point where kneeling and canceling sports games are to be expected. That really won’t have the impact as it ones had .
League seems to be taking load management seriously all of a sudden $25K is light, though. I’m curious to see if they ramp up the punishments

WTF are the Spurs "resting"?
Just looked at their schedule. They have a ton of b2b’s and they don’t have anymore games on 2+ days of rest.WTF are the Spurs "resting"?

I think the league is only taking this seriously now because of the financial ramifications of the pandemic.#Popoviching
Should have taken this nonsense seriously when Pop/Spurs pulled this foolishness in 2013 on a Thursday TNT game vs the Heat. If that gets nipped in the bud that night, it’s not the problem that it is today. But Pop has 5 titles so it was just a slap on the wrist. And made it okay for everyone else to start doing it.
