If I was going to be photo'gd getting a shot and holding another grown man's hand, I wouldn't also have on a Tupac shirt. #toxicmasculinity I think it's fine

Russ absolutely half asses it. Running a mile a minute doesn't mean you're not half assing it.
This is a man who once said he doesn't watch any film. Half assing it.
Every time he gets mild criticism he ignores it and becomes defensive. Half assing it.
Refusing to change his playstyle and sacrifice gaudy numbers for the good of the team. Half assing it.
Refusing to do anything if the ball isn't in his hands in the momeny. Half assing it.
Not playing any semblance of decent defense, HALF of the game. Half assing it.

YES I'M CLOSE

I admit his game isn't efficient or conducive to winning basketball

/Discussion

That is what started this entire dialogue in the media and on NT. As long as there is consensus on that, I don't see what anyone is really arguing about whether it be Russ, his wife, SAS or us on NT.

The contingent being labeled as "Anti-Russ" acknowledges he's a freak athlete, great player and future HOfer but he's not conducive to winning NBA championships.

He said he doesn't care about winning NBA championships because he's already won life championships.

Seems like everyone is on the same page.

Below league average? 23-5-6 on 42-33-86 are not below league average postseason numbers :lol

Russ hasnt improved in anything in close to a decade. Same damn player. Its funny to think he cares about winning. Doesnt have to really.

I dont like him as a player at all, give him big props for coming back from all those injuries though. Gotta be mentally tough for that.

I got no issue with Russ as a person, but it's time we all recognize that Russ the player don't actually care about winning
Winning is incidental to his actual goals of putting up numbers and making money. He's just a more athletic Drummond

42% career FG% in the postseason isn't exactly terrible. Reg season he's at 44%. 3PT% doesn't look that far off either. 36vs33. Rebounds and assists look close too.

how is somebody who utilizes 33% of your possessions and shooting under league averages not terrible.... Not terrible is nothing that should even be used when describing the best at anything and that's my point

It's been said before and EYE am not saying this is the case with Westbrook but there are definitely players who get to the NBA and have no other basketball-related aspirations after doing that (although historically padding stats could be considered an aspiration).

Some players are in love with the game and want to bring something to it and some are in love with what the game brings to them. I understand it and respect it if that's your MO.

Okay, so league Average is 46% and 36%

Kobe’s postseason numbers: 44% and 33%

What should we take away from this?
I looked up splits for some of the other high scoring guards and wings of the 21st century for further comparison. Wade was 48/34, AI was 40/33, Melo is 41/32, Steph is 45/40, Myrie is 45/40, Dame is 41/36, Kawhi is 50/40, PG13 is 42/36.

KD was shooting 45/33 before he jumped to the bay. That went to 52/38 splits in GSW. Interesting.
