I remember Lebatard saying Riley met with Aldridge during his last free agency knowing the Heat couldn’t afford him but to establish a relationship and give him an advantage in the future for situations like this. Not that Aldridge is who he was but I found it interesting. Aldridge knew they couldn’t pay him either but took the meeting out of respect for Riley.
