Oh, interesting...

Seeing that it's in Rio and that Brazil's never won the gold (I think?), I guess that could be a big-enough reason...

Really wish GolTV still existed. Hard to keep up with the next generation of Brazilians with it being no more.

It still exist, I have it. I have Optimum as my cable provider

I actually wanted to @ you...while people were having a meltdown about the USMNT result yesterday. I was wondering, at the youth level, what are some of the main differences, if any between boys and girls? How they train/play differently/what resources are available to them?

Wait, is Neymar with the squad?

He was there, but he's not playing. He chose to play in the olympics over copa which is kind of disappointing. Would've much rather seen him play in copa instead of olympics where a lot of countries only send like U23 squads

I remember reading that Brazilian people thought the Olympics were a bigger deal than the Copa. Along with what you said, I wonder if he felt/was pressured into it.

But knowing that it goes down in Olmypic village or whatever they call it and the fact that it's in his home country, I don't blame him :lol

Nothing wrong, just never heard of it outside of NT. Must be a reason.

YNS

as far as Neymar on the Olympic squad, you've gotta have the biggest name there especially with it on home soil
Now whether they muck it up and get that work again like they did at the WC remains to be seen

Well that's that then. I feel like my opinion on this has changed within the last hour, I didn't begrudge him going, but now I do. Spoke about a "band of brothers" then jumped ship when more money came calling.

I'd be naive to think there's any loyalty in football, but Jesus Christ no ****** wanted you a few years back. **** you.

Vardy and Leicester are a perfect match, his style suits us, our style suits him. Force him to adapt to Arsenals tiki-taka football or shove him out on the wing like England do, he'll be ineffective.

I love the bloke, he's my favourite player, but I've watched every single game he's ever played for us and even I can admit he has his limitations. Leicester built the team around him.

He's not an Arsenal type player, so it's a weird one that they're interested and it's an even weirder one that he wants to go, seemingly. I will not begrudge him for moving to a more elite club at this stage of his career, but it'll be a mistake, either in that he won't get played, or he'll be played out of position. Not to mention Arsenal fans are ruthless man, one bad game and AFTV will be calling for his head. **** that :lol

That's exactly what I thought. He fits that intense straight forward direct attacking football. I feel like he would flourish more under a Klopp than a Wenger. Cause how many times have we seen Arsenal essentially over passing the ball, trying to walk it into the net? I just don't see Vardy fitting into that.

Maybe someone else can chime in here, but I feel like if Pool could have gotten rid of Balo, Vardy would have been a nice addition.

And you're definitely right about Arsenal fans being fickle. Claude is going to go WILD on Vardy when the drought begins.

I can also imagine Vardy's price on Fantasy Football starting at like 9.2 next season :smh

Can we blame him though? Dude came out the mud and is now in CL footy, at 30. It's last chance saloon for him. To have played at an elite club, and make more money at the tail end of his career makes sense for him.

I just don't think he's chose the right home...

No of course not. Suppose being a Leicester fan it's just disappointing.

He came out and said "why would I leave Leicester, they wanted me when no one else did" but then jumps ship at the first opportunity? It's like Delph, but worse, Delph left a struggling side to join Man City.

Vardy is leaving the champions of England, a team which is built solely around him, where fans adore him more than any other player I've seen, to join Arsenal? Where he won't fit and the fans aren't even excited to have him.

I'm just baffled by the whole situation:lol

:lol I hear you. I guess a move to Madrid or something would be completely understandable as the prestige is so high. But to move to an Arsenal that you won't fit into doesn't make sense. And he HAS to know that he won't really fit into the style of play, surely?

Speaking of Citeh,

I was with the boys a few days ago, and one of them said apparently Pep wants to only keep THREE starting players? Is this true? :lol dude is basically buying a brand new team all together?

Heard the same, but tbh, I'd probably only keep 5/6 players

Hart
Kompany
De Bruyne
Silva
Aguero
Nacho

:{ Your five definitely sounds doable versus the three I would assume Hart, KDB, Aguero.

as much as Kompany's legs are finished, I would think he'd be a leader in the dressing room ala John Terry. Nacho has some potential, and Silva is old, but where's he really going to go? I heard some rumors of going back to Spain.

I would keep Prince Raheem. Dinho too for those rotational necessities.

I just got emotionally involved with Arsenal fans on Twitter and it is the biggest regret of my life.

Leeches.

Losing Vardy isn't a big deal imo
He's going to be 30 in a couple months and probably only got a good 2-3 years left in him
Just can't lose Kante
And Mahrez is most likely staying so not too bad
I got faith that Claudio got a striker he can find to replace Vardy

Vardy made the right career move, he will never in his life have the opportunity to make that kind of money again.

I know this is digging up old graves but why was Di Matteo fired after winning Champions League a few years back with Chelsea?

Didn't win a PL game in November plus a poor CL showing. Ended up 3rd in the group. Why they were able to win Europa.

‏@MessiMinutes: Cadena SER report that Eric Baily's move to @ManUtd is in "the final stages". They say the fee is €30m (£23.5m).

So much better value than 50m for Stones...

Got some possible bad news on top of Vardy for you heggsy heggsy ...

According to @LeParisien_75, N'Golo Kanté is "increasingly keen" to join PSG. Club will pay his €25m release fee.

@Jon_LeGossip: Latest meeting with LCFC's N'Golo Kante reportedly happened last week. PSG have offered a 5-year contract. Kante "more & more" open to move.

His clause is dirt cheap though :eek, surprised other teams haven't pounced. Arsene could've done that for cheaper than Xhaka.

In other news, the PSG Hazard dream seems to be dead for now

@GFFN:
Eden Hazard: "PSG are not part of my plans... I have a contract until 2020. I want to leave Chelsea like a boss." (Téléfoot)

On the same PSG front, they're looking to make a BIG power play...

@Jon_LeGossip:
L'Equipe a bit more optimistic than Le Parisien over PSG's chances of luring Simeone to Paris.

Meeting between Natalia Simeone, Jorge Mendes & Nasser Al-Khelaifi reportedly took place last week. Long-term contract proposed by PSG.

Hours later, NAK spoke with Le Parisien. Won't be easy to acquire Simeone from Atletico but Cholo reportedly receptive to PSG's interest.

In a way, Simeone could replace Zlatan as PSG's star. His arrival might aid Kante, Antoine Griezmann, Alexandre Lacazette or Neymar moves.

I don't know how much I'd buy him leaving Atleti but man the possibility of Simeone on a club with an endless budget is pretty exciting...

Straight up steal for that price :x

‏@RomaThings: Rudiger's agent is in London meeting with Chelsea to sort out contract details. He will be sold for 25 mil [Repubblica]

Another great value deal

Florentino Perez, who feels a moral debt to @D_DeGea, wants to fulfill the promise he made and bring him to @realmadrid this summer.

@realmadrid have an option by which they can sign @D_DeGea for €50m before 15 June, a clause included in his last contract renewal.

In fact if @D_DeGea doesn't join @realmadrid, then they would have to pay him €10.9m based on an agreement reached last summer.

@D_DeGea has the feeling that @realmadrid will not enforce the clause in his contract by which they could sign him for €50m.

Florentino Perez wants to bring @D_DeGea to @realmadrid this summer but Zidane has already told Keylor Navas that he counts on him.

Another factor is that Jose Mourinho has already spoken with @D_DeGea and has transmitted his desire to have him next season.

@D_DeGea thanked the gesture given that he barely spoke with Van Gaal, so the arrival of Mourinho can be key in its continuity. (AS)

Feels like its been nothing but good news coming from OT ever since Mou got confirmed :lol

Man with Mata probably getting sold and the rumors also surrounding Basti, really hoping Mou can get Pjanic over someone more expensive and risky like Gomes. Dude has been arguably Roma's best player the last 2 seasons and he's top class. Dude is even a crazy FK specialist. Marca say that a move to OT could be a possibility depending on how hard Barca go after him...

*fingers crossed*

Roma getting raided. Rudiger at 25 mil is nice, Nainggolananandanda is hopefully up next. We need a new, well rounded midfielder.

I don't think we'll get Lukaku back, I actually want someone speedy to be a foil to Costa's bruiser approach.
