Didn't get to watch a lot of footy this weekend as my brother came into town in a short visit from Orlando & I was watching season 3 of House Of Cards when I could.
Saw the Barca match though... Rakitic should be an automatic starter from here on out. His yeoman's work box to box in the midfield has been great. I like his flexibility in being able to switch from a tiki taka approach to Saturday's more direct style due to the poor field at Los Carmenes.
The sad thing is that you can see Barca/Spain legend Xavi fade after playing major minutes. He started off well helping to dictate tempo for Barca early on in the game but by the time he was taken off around the hour mark, he was completely spent. He should've been subbed off after 30-40 mins.
Looks like La Pulga is going into another funk. He got a goal from a very generous Hannibal assist, but overall Messi's finishing has been off the last handful of games. I hope he hasn't rested back into his previous form.
The La Liga title is going to come down to the last couple of games again.
