There were rumors popping up that Perez came to the realization that he could cash in on Ronaldo now where as his value will drop as he gets older. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Cool interview with Thierry Henry. He shares his thoughts on Germany winning the WC, keeper Manuel Neuer, & Ronnie/Messi. Can't wait to see how his coaching career develops.

Is it fair to say everyone in the thread kinda likes Dortmund/Klopp?

I love Klopp's goal celebrations... Sad this about this highlight vid is it doesn't show how bad Dortmund was defensively.

That 2010/11 Dortmund Bundesliga winning side is what won me over. So many young attacking players and just such an intelligent group overall. Gotze, Kigawa, Sahin, Lewandowksi, Bender, etc.

I've also always said that Klopp reminds me of one of my favorite coaches of all time, Jon Gruden.

How accurate have those RM "affiliate" accounts been in the past?

What I don't get about the Richard Barklie story is that he insists he didn't participate in the chanting yet he's apologizing "for his part." Why would you apologize if you didn't do anything? I'm going to wait to vilify him--because there is a chance that he didn't take part and was just in the wrong place at the wrong time--but if it turns out he took part, son deserve the full Justine Sacco treatment, loss of job and all.

If you look at the vid, you can clearly see Barklie shoving the guy back off the train. I can't believe the organization he works for is standing by him. You would think someone who works for a Human Rights org would help this guy get on the train.

I sent an email to the org this morning condemning them for standing by Barklie complete with the screen shot his him pushing the guy back off the train.

The "org" is using photos of the b*st*rd as part of their front page...

That is hands down the shoddiest looking organization website I've ever come across. Wouldn't be surprised if the person manning the "contact us" email is Barklie's buddy from middle school...

I'm all for second chances and realize that alcohol sometimes makes the best of us do dumb stuff, but the irony of a human rights worker doing this is too much...

For those that have watched Atletico, how's Griezmann done this season? His 14 league goals sure is impressive on paper.

Griezmann started off very slow. He only scored 1 goal in his first 12 games while easing into the starting line-up. Once he got comfortable with Cholo's system, he's been fire. I think he has 17 goals now.

He & Mandzukic (20 goals) have been lethal.

Griezmann likes scoring partners because he & Vela were lethal too.

Mandzukic uses his size very well to hold up the ball for Griezmann who is fast/quick as ish... Watching those 2 play has been fun... With the arrival of Torres, I hope Cholo can find a way for Raul Jimenez to get in on the action too.

Griez is my dude.. ear marked him to be a stand out at world cup... man he ruined my fantasy team though :{ was ranting how i wanted him at united this past summer but happy to see him flourish

wasn't the whole CFC fans/ Barklie defense that they pushed him off cuz the train was too full/ he was a PSG supporter?.. was he a PSG fan?.. Please do not take this as me looking for an excuse really am just curious if anyone actually clarified those things yet.

Kimchi Papi Kimchi Papi hats off to you for sending that email... post the info here so we can demand his head

From the video,it didn't seem like the man wore any article of clothing bearing any PSG logo or anything. Even if he was a PSG fan, what kind of lamesauce excuse if that to go around acting all ignorant and like you own the place in a foreign city no less?

No doubt in my mind that Barklie would've been fired instantly had he been in the States/Canada instead of his company sticking up for him.

Beans Beans - I provided the link to the "org's" site in a previous post. I found their email address via the Contact Us section.

I encourage everyone to email this wanna be org urging them to fire this turd.

The Brit expat that's living in Paris that took the vid of the racial abuse said the victim had business clothes on with no trace of PSG team wear but like Ro said, it doesn't matter if he was. What took place is unacceptable.

Getting back to football though, I can't wait to see how this Barca squad responds to a pretty fit City team. All the other CL matches are great match ups to see too especially the Juve vs Dortmund game.

Arsenal should beat Monaco. Interesting match up though given Wenger's history with both clubs. Bayer Leverkusen vs Atleti is another good match up too.

Glad CL footy is back...

I hope this is just some propaganda to push away teams like United looking to poach Roma of Strootman....

Kevin Strootman’s knee surgery did not go perfectly, says ex-Roma doctor

A former Roma club doctor believes Kevin Strootman’s latest injury problems have come about because previous surgery on his injured knee “did not go perfectly”, speculating that there may be “no way out” for the Dutch midfielder.

Strootman, a long time target of Manchester United’s manager, Louis van Gaal, picked up the initial injury in March and underwent surgery which ruled him out of Holland’s World Cup campaign.

The 25-year-old returned to action with Roma in November but suffered a relapse in January, was forced under the knife again and with no time frame set for his return, may not play again this season.

Van Gaal reportedly remains interested in signing Strootman, provided he makes a full comeback, but Mario Brozzi, previously part of Roma’s medical staff, fears prolonged complications for the midfielder.

“My impression is that the surgery on Strootman’s ligament did not go perfectly,” Brozzi has told La Partita Perfetta on Gold TV. “I don’t know what happened to his knee, but his Cyclops syndrome results from a problem in the ligament’s position.

“The cartilaginous damage is determined by the extensive deficit. Now, if this is the situation, I see no way out. But it’s not up to me to say whether further surgery is needed.”

I honestly don't even want Strootman at this point,no need for anymore injury prone players. Wish him a good recovery though.

I hope United's interest in Hummels isn't real. Signing him would be an absolute disaster. Hummel bad play dates back to the year Dortmund made it to the CL final. He had a decent showing in the WC this past summer but his league play has been a stark contrast to the summer. Granted he's been dealing with some injuries but that aside, his play has been awful & a big reason why Dortmund was doing so awful in the first half of the campaign.

I've grown weary of Hummels as well,he's become rather overrated since the WC to me. He can still bring quality no doubt but his lack of consistency and injuries are enough to make me iffy since he'll more than likely command a huge fee. I'd prefer them spending that sum on someone like Godin/Otamendi/Laporte or another RB like Clyne.
