I don't think so. None of those players looked like they were playing extra hard. This team hasn't been really challenged yet this world cup. This game probably the closest we'll see to France playing their best.
Maybe if they're a goal down in the final we'll see what they're really made of.

Mahrez will give him a run for his money in terms of his spot at Man City. So far it seems Sterling's club play is better than his int'l play but if this drought of form continues he'll be in trouble for sure.

A little competition never hurt anyone especially someone to share the workload with the way Pep rotates the squad. And he will be just fine hes been one of our most important players every season since he signed especially last season and the club and Pep has full faith in him. He not going anywhere.
Also dont care about the sitters when he can deliver game winners like this for us

If you watch these guys play individually during their club games you'll know what they look like when they're giving it their last. None of those guys looked like they were doing that because they didn't need to. Of course they're taking the game seriously but they definitely as team and individually not going 100%.

Stop it. Sterling doing things you wish you saw in a Liverpool Jersey. Top 5 in scoring in the Prem.
Competition is healthy but Mahrez is bought for more depth in CL run.
Sterling also slots in as a CF/CAM or even on the left at times. Sterling ain't sweating a thing blud. If he didn't miss so many easy chances he'd have 20-23 goals.

It's early in the transfer window, Klopp will get this sorted out. JK isn't blind, he knows he doesn't have a reliable keeper in Karius.

France simply outclassed us tactically. We had some chances but France kept their end of the pitch on lockdown. Their plan was executed perfectly. Not the best entertainment but they get the job done.
Meunier’s suspension was a huge loss and overall we didn’t reach the level we’re capable of. We couldn’t get the ball to Hazard, Lukaku and De Bruyne far up the pitch enough and they weren’t really at their best either. Dembele sadly was pretty bad, fouled a lot and Chadli was struggling on the right. The ref also denied us a FK right outside a box for a blatant foul on Hazard despite the ref being a few meters away.
The goal from the corner resulted from Alderweireld letting Umtiti escape but credit to Tity’s great jump. It just really sucks to lose off just a corner.
When the decent crosses started coming from Mertens we had already taken off the Fro, a decision I still don’t get.
Lastly, Mbappé’s kicking the ball away from Alderweireld near the end and then further trying to dribble the ball away was disgraceful and childish. Shielding at the corner flag is fine at that point but not kicking the ball away when we try to pick it up.
Overall we should absolutely be proud for getting this far. We’re clearly amongst the big boys now, we’ve atleast established that. Getting this far at the WC is only the second time we’ve managed that. Undeniably we did squander our best opportunity to win something and I don’t see it happening again soon except maybe the next Euros but we need to stay positive and get that 3rd place now.
