He had been playing hurt for a while but came to a head in late Jan. It's the same injury Messi had in Sept 2016 when he came back too soon. He changed his running mechanics to deal with the pain & ended up injuring his abductor in the right leg. Xavi Alonso & Ander Herrerra suffered from this too. I think both of them had surgery for it...

I reckon Matuidi being back is probably the most important addition. Dembele was bullying their midfield all game long in the first leg, with Matuidi on the pitch that's gonna be a much tougher challenge.
