I agree with everything you said. I guess my point is that I don’t see it as completely negative.

Have to give him a bit of credit for putting himself in these great positions consistently and still having decent numbers, while missing multiple sitters. His finishing ability is not as bad as his form says it is.

Right now Chelsea’s German duo who cost them like €150 million total (or something ridiculous) haven’t been worthy of cracking the starting XI.

You know if push come to shove your best lineup has Pulisic and Ziyech on the wings and Abraham/Giroud as ST.

You guys know who’s been kinda nice this season (ironically) - Morata

Crazy how that works.

Yea, you guys picked up Jota (who is by far the better player) for like 40 million cheaper.....

Liverpool are on a crazy unbeaten run of transfers. It’s nuts. :smh:
40 million cheaper? Pretty sure that’s not right. We only paid about 50 mil for Werner.

And this is correct. But I don’t think many were expecting Werner & Havertz to light up the league immediately. Everybody can’t be Bruno out the gate bruh

I always said that Ziyech would be our most important signing. He had the experience to be able to make an immediate impact in a new league.

I don’t think this is what you’re doing, but it’s wayyyy too early to write off Werner & Havertz.

Yea, Ziyechs been nice. He deserves it.

I’m not writing them off, not Kai because honestly I’ve never seen him play so I don’t know, I brought up Kai by what you guys said.

But Werner, I’ve seen this from other strikers before. So I’m not completely writing him off but I’m extremely skeptical. Like I said, Strikers are a different breed to me. Finishing in football is the hardest thing to do.

Watch Gini Wijnaldum end up going to Barca or where ever and Renato just slotting in and some how being good at Pool.

The way Liverpool are so hot right now and on a roll these last 3 years, I wouldn’t be surprised at all

But Renato has been nice at Lille, their best player arguably. Maybe he’s finally come into his own. 🤔

I think it’s another great transfer tho, especially for so cheap. Not much to lose.

This story is getting kind of nuts tho, cause I just saw Manchester United linked to Renato too. Plus Fab hasn’t confirmed.

Werner always had that reputation in Germany of missing tons of easy sitters but at the end of the day he still scored lots of goals for Leipzig.
In his final season there he scored 28 in the league, only 6 less than Lewandowski, while still being described as very wasteful. Relatively bad finishing can be overcome by excellent positioning to some extent.

Why did Arsenal buy Saliba again?

They've struggled all year defensively and he can't even buy a spot on the bench?

There were some personal issues with saliba around the time we bought him, his mother unfortunately passed away and i think his father as well in a short space of time and supposedly the reason we tried to get him a loan back to St etienne was because he wanted to be close to his family.

It seemed he was being left out more so to grieve and take his time getting his mind right. Not sure why the loan didn't happen, but Mikel talking about him not being ready, my guess was to partially protect him from those questions. Which I agree with, especially in the toxic state the club is in now, to put him in and to no fault of his own, start getting stick after a bad performance, no need to rush him in if he isn't mentally ready yet. In the last few weeks there has been a lot of positive talk about his performances in u23 and training so I think we'll start seeing him soon. He's only 19 so there's plenty of time for him

I appreciate the detailed explanation josh4523 josh4523 , had no idea about the behind the scenes stuff.

Was just wondering why he can't buy any PT even with the defenders ahead of him being in terrible form.

Makes sense though if they're trying to protect him from all the negativity at the club right now.

That was way too easy for Jesus not a single arsenal center back challenged with him for that ball

After hearing the positive talk about him the last few weeks, he may be good to start challenging for the first team. If so, I do hope he starts getting a chance instead of a loan, like you said, our defense could use any help.

Mikel has a decision to make tho, would be slightly worried still now about playing him if we don't end up getting midfield help first next month. Without addressing the mid, I feel like we'll be hanging him out to dry if he were to play and messing with the development imo
