Idk if there is truth to this but DT said the back line that played in the Arsenal U23 match on Friday cost more than the back line that started today.... mad
AMN is from the academy and Luiz was a free transfer. Tierny cost about 25m, I think Holding was about 15m or so maybe even less. Chambers, Mari and Saliba all played for the u23 last night. Combined, they certainly cost more.
Partey looking dumb af rn
. Were Atleti unable to afford his wages or something.
Release clause was triggered, nothing could be done.

Both of you make good points.
When Emery was sacked, I didn't want Arteta because I felt that he was too inexperienced. There's deep issues within the club and a lot of dead weight players, I didn't think he was going to be able to navigate the issues.
Regardless of who came in, it would take them a few windows to put together their squad. Arteta is no different. Majority of the players in this squad aren't good. But we shouldn't be this bad. Players and personnel within this club are ***.
But tactics and player management come into question. Willian shouldn't be starting, shouldn't be part of the club frankly. Same with Luiz. You look at a player like Ceballos, who we're basically developing for Real. Whether they keep him or not, his stock is increasing to some degree. But the fact is, he is taking away playing time from other youth players who actually have a future with the squad. Bar injuries, ESR and Nelson aren't getting time in the PL despite playing well in the EL.
I wouldn't have started Eddie today, not over Laca. Eddie is such a different player in the EL, u23 national team. Seems like he's in his head. Like the chance he missed today, could have easily taken another touch .
I understand that it is hard to defend Arteta when he isn't trying anything except for the same line ups that don't progress. I also understand that too many changes can create instability and cause confusion.
