Casemiro looked active and lively for a whole five minutes to start the match. He's supposed to be our enforcer and the ultimate disrupter, yet we're seeing none of that. Ziyech, Tadic, Neres and van de Beek are coming forward in waves, undeterred and unmolested.

Who do you want to see Solari use our final sub on, Marcelo?

Our luck? It’ll be Vallejo due to CB injury

Bale has been making things happen since coming on...
Hit the post on his one golden chance. Could have played in Asensio but not mad, because Bale almost beat Onana near post.

He'll have more opportunities. I see Bale scoring in the second half but I also think Ajax may not be done scoring either. We'll see if ten Hag learned anything from the first leg in Amsterdam in terms of second-half adjustments and tactics.

Isco not even being in the squad is even more head scratching, doesn't make any sense
I believe he's finally, really gone this summer. Feels like RM supporters deal with Isco rumors every transfer window. This campaign was the last straw for player. With the media clowning his shape and fitness. Plus Solari keeping Isco locked up like he's Ser Jorah Mormont with greyscale.

Strange to see both wingers “injured” with no solid replays of their injuries. These are super desperation subs.
Lucas's knock did seem sudden but Vinicius was on the ground a lot in the first half. Mazraoui was fouling the Brazuca like crazy and accumulated a yellow because of it. Even prior to the last run of play where Vini tried to beat Onana at a tight angle near post, he was clutching and grimacing at his leg, knee, calf.

Asensio should be dribbling at Mazraoui every opportunity, knowing that he's on a yellow. With Reguilon overlapping.

TBF, the match is a toss up and Juve haven't lost at home yet so we'll see
I've got Juve advancing next Tuesday. Different side and atmosphere in Turin. It's not difficult to see Juventus scoring two at home while maintaining a clean sheet, especially if they can bag one before halftime.

damn....could have been 3
In real time, I'm not sure if Neres was off but either way, Luka saved us from further first-half embarrassment. If Modric doesn't diligently mark Neres and track him back all the way to Courtois's goal, then it's 3-0 Ajax going into the break.

scoring 2 against atleti will be difficult in any stadium

Dead *** wouldn’t even mind Marcelo at this point. Carvajal not giving damns about defending either. Let him go out defending his crown

Varane shoulda easily made those two open gols
The wide-open header hurts the most. Varane was completely unmarked on the far post, had all the time in the world to settle and finish the header. Got a good ball from Carvajal, or was it Lucas on that cross? Don't remember. On the other side, leads to Ziyech's opener.

Same with the left-footed attempt Varane had. Soft effort and Ajax counters with Neres's goal to go up 2-0 within the first 20 minutes.

Var will correctly save our *** if out of bounds can be reviewed but doesn’t change that we got shredded again

see this my problem with var

how far do you go back though?
someone answer this

Carvajal is an idiot. Been getting shredded the last week
Neres has been torching Carvajal all match, particularly in the first half. Destroyed him on the byline at one point and also drew a yellow off Dani.

What's good with Odriozola, picked up a small knock and not fit?
