all my posts were tounge in cheek btw...

but i think we can all agree that madrid is the worst club with the worst fans and people should be ashamed of themselves
might as well support the patriots

Vinicius is different he started learning Spanish the moment he was signed two years ago and is fluent

Aguero can't speak English? I know most of his interviews are in Spanish, but I feel like I've seen him speak it before

i swear i've heard him speak english as well

did ronaldo learn italian?

Honestly if you know Portuguese, you can learn conversational Spanish really quickly since it's from the same language family. My Spanish is actually better than my Portuguese (thanks to growing up in Cali and taking Spanish classes for easy A+) , and even when I combine the two languages, a native Spanish or Portuguese speaker knows what I'm trying to say

madrid really do have the worst fans in the world
they even had the nerve to whistle ronaldo his whole tenure at madrid when they owe him everything
in barcelona, if messi misses a penalty, they start the messi chants to support him
stark contrast to madrid
they are just spoiled...like barca fans tbh but on a whole different level. and theres a level of vitriol madrid fans direct at their players that doesn't happen in barcelona

I didn’t want to get into this “unappreciative” fans debate. All I was saying was Bale’s actions yesterday were overblown, and RM fans should be happy he cares that much...

Regardless, everything you said is true. Ronaldo is a bigger hero and more of a legend at Manchester United (where he was at for 5-6 years, 1 CL trophy, 1 balon d or) as opposed to RM (where he forced a transfer to Madrid during RM least successful time and Barça’s most successful time, gave them 9 years, won 4CL, 4 balon d or, etc)....

In Manchester Ronnie is all over Carrington with paintings and posters celebrating his tenure. At RM, nada - Nothing at El Bernabeu, nothing at Valdebebas. It’s like he didn’t even exist. Florentino took all that **** out

Here’s where I don’t completely blame RM fans or the people of Madrid tho. I’d blame it more on the corporate culture Florentino Perez has created and has maintained with the fans and media since he’s been at RM, the last 20 years. My dad said RM fans weren’t like this before, Di Stefano or even Hugo Sanchez could be examples.

He understands it very well and can speak it from what I’ve seen and heard. He said before he has to in training cause Pep speaks to the squad in English Almost exclusively in training. He just doesn’t often publically speak English. People say it’s cause hes just not that comfortable or kinda shy speaking English in public fear of getting something wrong I guess. He’s always been kind of a private person in general

I’ve only ever been so frustrated enough to boo a player on one of my own squads once before and that was at a hawks game when Josh Smith dumb*** wouldn’t stop shooting damn 3s. Anyone that knows the NBA knows way. It was infuriating to watch

You can’t compare that with Bale tho maynn. Learning Spanish when you know Portuguese is light work. Mourinho learned Italian in 3 weeks :lol :lol

But Bale does NOT know Spanish the way he should after almost 6 years. And I don’t have a problem with the media getting on him about that, he has done a bad job of becoming a member of the community/culture. Many Britishmen like Beckham and Steve Mcmenaman embraced themselves in the culture once they got to RM and the Madrid fans loved that.

But a lot has to do with Bale’s character. He’s a shy and reserved dude. It’s not like he sounds like a rocket scientist when he speaks English either. And that’s okay, to each their own. But this latest criticism of his goal celebration is bull****, I hope we can all agree there.

Josh Smith could have been the second best hawk of all time if he never shot a 3 or those terrible mid range shots, he could do everything else on the court

The BBC5 footy show with Mina Rzouki in Dec talked about Bale having stopped going to his Los Blancos Spanish class after a short time.

He has a very rudimentary ability to speak & understand. There's been only one interview he gave in Spanish & apparently it was awful which is one of the things that soured the Madridistas... They apparently cringed when he said Hala Madrid & pronounced it with a very hard H.

Former Madrid manager (& Real Sociedad & Depo) John Toshack bashed Bale last May for his lack of ability to speak the language.

i boo'd luther head when i went to a rockets game.
i wasn't really mad though. our section kept sarcastically cheering for him. **** was hilarious tbh.

my god he was garbage though

Not everyone can be a genius like Mourinho bro...

But Ronaldo stopped using a translator to answer all Italian questions a couple months ago, but he responds in either Spanish or Portuguese. I’d give it another year before he speaks Italian publicly.

When I studied abroad in Italy, I wasn’t comfortable speaking my casual pre-elementary Italian until I left (5 months).

A lot of it is nervousness. In my head I can speak some languages decently, but when I'm face to face with a native speaker, that's when I start stammering and sounding like an idiot :lol

trust me i'm not judging. it's not easy for me at all.

I speak more Spanish now than I do Portuguese and that’s because of work (which isn’t even a lot). But when I speak Spanish I’m still thinking in Portuguese if that makes sense. That will never go away.

Actually Footy, since about High school, is the probably the main reason I haven’t lost my Spanish and Portuguese. Because I go out of the way to read/listen to the Portuguese and Spanish press, it helps me stay sharp - along with delivering the spicy rumors y’all love to hear

I'm the same, I speak much more Spanish than Portuguese just from living around/being friends with Mexicans, visiting Spain (used to know Catalan but I've forgotten 90% of it), watching Spanish football, listening to Spanish music, etc., but I always slip up and put in Portuguese words while I'm speaking Spanish. Most of the time it doesn't change the meaning of what I'm trying to say though.

On a side note, for some reason , Brasilian Portuguese is really hard for me to understand when I hear it being spoken. While watching movies, I miss some extremely basic phrases, and then when I see the subtitles, I feel stupid as @#$@

Mourinho has been a terrible manager since 2013, but god damn bro. The amount of languages he knows and speaks is impressive. He didn’t really “learn Italian in three weeks” like he claims.... but he sure did pick it up hella fast.

Plus I saw interviews with him speaking French on BeIN Sports, I’m pretty sure he knows Catalan (which I can’t even understand). When Barça fans called him “the translator”, they weren’t kidding.

sfc415 sfc415 you just gotta get used to Brazilian Portuguese. It’s a process.

Real talk, I don't understand what the hell Kane be saying. Harry Maguire looks like he rode the short bus too
