☘️ Boston Celtics Official 2023-2024 Regular Season Thread ☘️

IMO he has the juice with Washington to choose his path, as long as they get some sort of compensation. He’s been very loyal to them. The Wizards are going nowhere as currently constructed. Don’t have cap space, 10th pick in this draft probably won’t be a huge difference maker. They’re a play-in team at best.

Is there a better situation out there for him than playing with Tatum (we all know their relationship) and Brown?

We’ll see.

Think Al would be involved in anything for him.

Don’t think we can afford to just let his salary “expire” next summer. Need to roll his contract over into something.

They've already talked numbers on his last contract in Boston. Al wants to retire a Celtic. I don't think he's going anywhere.

Yeah I don’t know. Just don’t think I totally buy them riding his contract out. It’s really the last major chip salary-wise that we can use to make a significant addition to the team without breaking up the Jays/Rob/Smart core.

We need someone that can pack a bit more of a punch offensively, even if we have to take a step backwards defensively. We are a bit too easy for really good teams to guard at times when the Jays are the only players you have to worry about off the dribble. Al is functionally a 3 and D big that struggles a bit to score in the paint.

Harrison Barnes has always been the guy that comes to mind for me. 6’8” 3 level scorer that can play decent defense. He’d be able to do a lot of things similar to what we just saw from Andrew Wiggins. A true 3rd scoring option that doesn’t really interfere with the Jays touches.

What about the TPEs? Read from various outlets that it could help this team bring in some pieces.

Also, Sean Marks posted a tweet about the possibility that the Cs could go over the luxury tax or some **** like that (I'm not really well-versed with it ) if they spend money this season. Bruh if that's the case, then BY ALL MEANS do it. I think it's high time that Wyc unloads the bag for ideal pieces at whatever cost since the team was 2 WINS away from a chip.

Every move made this past year was to duck the tax for the 2021-22 season so they wouldn’t have to pay the repeater. They did that successfully.

Now with everyone’s new contracts kicking in, they have no way to avoid the tax, so it’s time to start spending. $17.1M Fournier TPE expires mid July. $6.9M Juancho TPE is up in January and $5.9M Schroeder TPE in February.

Taxpayer MLE will be like $6.5M so we’ll use that too.

I thought Al would be a trade chip too, but fact of the matter is we have no one to really guard Embiid or Giannis if you trade him. Heck, he did a great job on KD too. If you want to get out of the East, Al is huge.

Wow! That Fournier TPE is A LOT lmaooo! Could they combined all of those figures for one player or does it have to be for one each? Not sure if that makes sense.

I like Bruce Brown. Wouldn’t mind seeing him come on home. Would be a great fit in Ime’s system, although he doesn’t really solve the issues that we saw in the finals.

Was reading he’s athletic but can’t shoot well/consistently and not a great ball handler

Maaaaaan, I don’t understand other Celtics fans sometimes.

Yall know damn well the Boston media will milk this **** badly.

Oh… and **** Scal.

Jaylen is pretty reserved… The Celtics don’t really have anyone that’s outspoken. If Jaylen Brown was more outspoken … I bet things would be different

With Wall signing with the Clips, yall think there’s a chance the Cs inquire about Kennard?

Need some fireworks rn
