Im rolling with Drake as a pop act more than a rapper. The problem is he talks rapper **** to producers in rap songs but doesn't put out rap albums. Quite the niche he's carved out for himself. He's teflon.
I'm the one that said hes been at the top since 2010, but I agree with everything you said. In the Drake thread I said hes winning off volume. Cole, Kendrick and Wale always been better but Drakes been good enough and consistent enough to stay at the forefront of the genre. Kendrick disappears...
I feel that. I think he's proved his rapper chops on intros, outros, all the _am in _______ tracks. I dont think he could keep it up for 2-3 verses a song for 12 tracks though.
Ran it back because one of the homies told me I was hating on it hard.
Drake is rapping as well as he ever has. Rap is what he does best and he doesn't rap enough on his albums IMO.
The writing on the rnb songs is decent but the quality has gone down a ton since he lost the Weeknd and PND...
He was home chilling, one of them yelled "HE DONT WRITE HIS OWN RAPS", the other dedicated the finale of his album to him. He was forced to respond and represented himself well. If you don't get it, you don't get it. No biggie. RIP Kobe.
Better artist making better music. They aren't really in the same lane. The albums you mentioned have been impeccable front to back, had direction and won Grammys, Pulitzers and NAACP awards. Aubrey isnt that caliber of artist.
They both smacked him upside his head in front of everyone and put him in a position where he had to reply and he showed well. ****** will NEVER play with Kendricks name.
IMO the two aren't really comparable. Drake wins on volume. The quality of his music has never been close to Kendrick...
Album trash. All those pushbacks and delays, he was probably hoping and waiting for some inspiration that never came. Only so long you can remix and package up the same product.
Hopefully the streets trash this album like they should and this is the turning point in his career that sparks him...
Vibe I got from Parks is he been tired of them dudes and is relieved all this finally blew up. Prolly feels like he does a lot more for the network than them and if he's cool with the situation then they should be more than cool.
He might've od'd a lil bit but Rory and Mal had to know he...
Rory’s cornball shenanigans led to all of this. Glad we don’t have to listen to that try-hard anymore.
Them boys was overpaid employees that started feeling themselves a lil too much.
Pod had become repetitive and stagnant over the last two years. Once the fans heard Ice and Ish the writing was...
**** is petty but all of Joe's jokes about losing his friends and the business being in limbo are hilarious.
"Deals getting done and ****** tweetin"
Always appreciated Joe's penchant for cracking jokes at the worst possible times.
