2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

Yep - the Warriors have been planning for this all along and have eyed KD for this reason (as I'm sure all other teams too, of course). Bob Myers/Joe Lacob know exactly what they're doing.

Agreed. And I think the Cavs (and OKC w/ KD the previous series) sort of showed that "Strength in Numbers" was not working as effectively as (the elite) teams started to get accustomed to playing the Warriors. They had players on the bench that can be good in spurts (Speights, Barbosa, etc.) but...

GSWARRIORS THREAD VOL. ANDDD AGAINNNN NBA CHAMPIONS

I don't know, I think you can interpret it in so many different ways. You can say Durant has to carefully craft his message if he goes to the Warriors - he's going to have to do a lot of damage control with leaving OKC for the purpose of keeping his personal brand. I really want to believe...

Mozgov's a good player but shouldn't scare anyone. Solid big man. Chris Broussard (since it's him, you should take it with a grain of salt) mentioned on Twitter Warriors were also looking at Jamal Crawford. Off the bench, I think that would be a solid addition and a massive upgrade over Barbosa.

Based on the numbers people are getting (Bazemore's supposedly wanting to get $20M/yr :lol )...man Barnes and Festus will get paid. I've prepared myself to not get my hopes up with Durant (since all logic points to him staying at least one more year), so that if it does happen I'm going to go...

As an assistant that's not bad at all. I'm guessing he and Ron Adams will do defense mostly..

Well looks like Warriors have a meeting with KD...you never know what can come from those things, no one expected Aldridge to jump ship to the Spurs last year until the meetings happened. Let's hope Lacob, Curry & Co. can work their magic. :hat It's pretty clear, I think the main core of...

Well, Warriors definitely addressed a need, glad they got another big. Hopefully he proves to be a better player than Festus is.

Someone who would probably be available for the W's is LeVert from Michigan. He's had some injuries but he would be a good wing player.

Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

Embellish? Yes. If you want to say you saved a company 25-30% by doing something, as long as you can back it up with logic, no problem. But a straight up lie, as in make up the school you went to, where you worked? Not worth it.

I have my reservations on Horford as well, especially since he's going to command the max. Would rather the Warriors spend money on multiple players in that case. Agreed with whoever said he isn't a rim protector (like a Bogut), he's a great all-around big man who can shoot, which is nice, but I...

GSWARRIORS THREAD VOL. ANDDD AGAINNNN NBA CHAMPIONS

Warriors would have been very active in free agency had they won the title (I don't think the conversation would be much different)...but not winning it I think will propel the front office to be more aggressive in improving the team, and it becomes that much more important. Quite frankly, OKC...

GSWARRIORS THREAD VOL. ANDDD AGAINNNN NBA CHAMPIONS

If Warriors are able to get a max-level free agent (like Horford, or KD...one can dream), Harrison (and Festus) will be out of the picture for sure. KD's almost certainly sticking with OKC, but everything is going to be frozen until he makes up his mind. The Warriors need a stable, consistent...

The buzz now is that the Warriors might be targeting Dirk. Coming off the bench it would be intriguing, even at this point of his career.

Yeah I totally see where you're coming from. I guess I looked the series from a different perspective...as I watched the games, it felt like it was LeBron/Kyrie taking their games to a different level and snatching the series from the Warriors rather than the Warriors choking the games away. So...

I agree, it's another reason why this doesn't hurt as much to me as I thought it would. The story of this Warriors team isn't just this season - it's probably the next 3-5 years as long as the Warriors have Curry/Klay/Draymond in their primes. How they respond to adversity is probably just as...

GSWARRIORS THREAD VOL. ANDDD AGAINNNN NBA CHAMPIONS

I'm crushed that they lost too, but the fact they won it last year helps a lot. I also think there's a good core of players that will keep the Warriors in the hunt over the next couple years. And honestly, I think a loss like this could be one of those painful experiences that propels the team...

Barnes is still really young. I think he comes back unless the Warriors are somehow able to lure KD. That bench of Livingston/Barbosa/Iggy/Speights/Ezeli/Rush/Clark/Varejao is really not great at all. Aside from Livingston and Iggy, we could be looking at a lot of roster turnover this year to...

The Official NBA Finals Thread: Game 7 - Cleveland Cavaliers are your 2016 NBA Champions

No need to play the what-if game last year invalidating the Warriors' title. There is a lot of what-ifs the Warriors can play this year (the suspension, Bogut injury, etc.), but I won't go there. Cavs earned it the same way Warriors earned their championship last year.
