That's poor from Nike. With a release like this- the box is an integral part of the purchase. For it to be broken is significant and should result in a significant refund. Returning at this point is not really an option- as there is seemingly no way of replacing them without paying resell.

I think it is still possible that they might refund/credit the difference/ it is nothing to Nike/ and bad PR has potential to cost more- not to mention the slight possibility of potential consumer law issues. I would think a discount from next order would be likely. They know nobody is...
