What’s the deal with the signal blue color way? I know it’s a classic, but I don’t see any reviews on YouTube even from past retros… To me this is right up there as a classic and even though it’s not an air max, it’s still one of those shoes.

I can’t even remember the last time this color retroed (the OG is actually a different shade of blue anyway…), and spiridons have never really been a poppin shoe like that.

So many air max models to choose from in 98 that spiridons sat for like 29$ at the Nike factory (pdx, mlk) from what I recall.

The Ultras get hate but I thought they were damn comfortable. The OG certainly way better, but the real big problem I had on multiple pairs of Ultras was the outsole Zoom pods separating from the midsole and the Zoom bags popping. Happened to three pairs and I only wore them super lightly and casually.
Thankfully, this retro doesn’t seem to have that issue. I have worn my first pair of silver/reds nearly every day at some point for nearly three straight months. I’ve beaten the hell out of them compared to my Ultras and they’re still fine.
It’s funny because all these years later, the silver/red Spiridons have become my absolute favorite 90s runners, replacing the AM97 silver bullets at the top for me after 20+ years. I loaded up on pairs LOL
