the one thing that bugs the hell outta me is how he points out some of the double entendres. that is like "look! i can still rap!" it's corny as hell.Team DMV / Nuggets Fan"Young Body, Old Soul" - The Double LP Debut. Coming Soon...O.G. Member #1

Fishscale, Late Registration, Food & Liquor and etc their just great albums but their being held which such high regard because everything else sucks.
I have to disagree. I like all those albums alot, but AG seems to have something more than those do. Party Life may be the one of the greatest things ive ever heard period. I can listen to everything on this album with the exception of Hello Brooklyn and really just geek out, I cant do that with Fishscale, LR, F&L, etc. AG just has a special feel to it, only time well tell if people will call it a classic, but for god sakes it hasnt even released yet so lets wait to decide. All Im saying is this is a step above even the "good" stuff being put out, at least to me.

I don't think all of yall really get the direction he went with "I Know". It's not just a woman, it's hip hop and Jay is that crack. 1st verse is the first taste of the drug. 2nd verse is realizing the addiction and trying to clean up. 3rd verse is being clean and sober.

what was the overall response to Kingdom Come?
what type of music is dominating hip hop now and since Jay "retired"? yea, I knowalso, wikipedia "9 1/2 weeks" for your own good.
the reason I like Jay as an artist is because his music actually means something. for the most part he doesn't just say @#%$ just to say it. the way rap is right now, the listeners have forgotten how to listen because no one forces them to. think about it, how many times have you heard a rapper spit a line that has nothing to do with anything? like if it's not a punchline, it might as well not even be a line. don't listen to hov like that. the last verse of I know tells me that this is Jay's last album and if you really listen to the album as a whole, he came full circle from Reasonable Doubt.
listening to Jay is like watching the Sopranos. if you just caught the last season you might like it you might hate it. but if you been watching from the first episode you'll understand it and love it. he has lines in Blue Magic that tie in with 2-3 other tracks on the album and other lines in other tracks that tie in with other tracks on other albums. you gotta listen!
