I did last night and that #*@* had me terrified. It was the first time I've ever had it and I thought something crazy was happening to me. Anyone else?

it's never happened to me. this topic keeps coming up on NT, but i dont know of anybody that's had it (much less gets it routinely).

its terrible...first time it happened it felt like i woke up 3 straight times. same feelings each time, vision was blurry, couldnt move, felt like somethingkept pushing me down. when i actually woke up and got out the bed ,i felt the softest and most vulnerable i could ever possibly be

I got relatives that this happens to, but they're lightweight superstitious and believe in the supernatural.
So in their eyes, this happens when a dead person's spirit tries to get into your mind/soul by holding down your body in your sleep.
haven't experienced it myself, but when they tell me about it, they talk bout it like its the worst feeling ever. even crying cuz they cant move.

Turned out to be OK though. Completely healed.

I've had it its the worst feelin. Ur mind is awake but ya body is still sleeping, u try and move but u can't I hate it

What exactly is this? Because something weird happens to me occasionally in my sleep, and its similar to what ya'll are describing. It feels like im havingsome sort of seizure, and i can hear everything and feel everything, but i cant really breathe and i cant move at all, and my heart feels like its going topound out of my rib cage. Is that sleep paralysis?

When your body goes into deep sleep, you're paralyzed. When you wake up too suddenly, you don't unparalyze (is that even close to a word?
All you gotta do is stop trying to move for a couple seconds and you're good to go. Now when it happens to me I know the procedure so it don't evenphaze me, but man that first time....

Yeha man it was crazy last night I thought I was dying or some +#@%. Afterwards was such a relief.

i used to get it a lot. one time i was sleeping on the couch and i was stuck in a way where my neck was in btw the arm of the couch and the pillow over my facewas suffocating me...luckily i got out of it. another time i was laying on my stomach when i had it and i heard this growling noise in my ear, like this personwith an evil growl. when i got out of it i seen this dark rigid shadow/cape thing leaving my room. scariest thing ive ever seen. sleep paralysis is no joke

I had it alot as a kid the worst is when you have to piss. You have to coach yourself to move. In the south they call it the devil riding your back. There wasthis one time I saw this shawdow coming out the dark, scared the out of me.

I seen the same thing too years back. This black cape looking thing with red eyes quickly flew into my wall, and woke me up to see some pornography commercial on t.v.
%*$+ is weird. theres gotta be something to it when ppl say the same thing happened to them. ive heard other people say this too
