Jamie always choose the most cowardly route
Man there was such a more badass route he could've made that choice but he got the fear of Beth in him.

If he was going to finally commit and be a Dutton, the second he learned his father orchestrated the hit he would've set up a meeting of fathers and then killed his father in front of John. Would've got welcomed back in to the family.

The other way is he comes up with option 3 himself without Beth saying it. Kill his dad the same way but this time dumps the body in front of his former home with John, Beth, the kid, and Rip to see then claim he's free from them for good.

I feel like next season may go down a messed up road where Beth keeps torturing him with this blackmail until he breaks and does something crazy/drastic.

All he had to do is was tell John soon after he found out

He was never going to say anything

this way accomplish nothing but prove Beth is right about him

That whole shooting arc was poorly handled, including Jamie's relationship with the family. No real payoff. Rip was like The Watcher this season.

just finished the finale.
Can’t believe the best part of this season was the first 5 minutes lol
They dropped the ball with the assassination storyline. Could’ve had them getting revenge the whole season but instead we had John fall for a hippy and run for governor. Kaycee go on a spiritual journey lol Beth always miserable dealing with daddy issues. Jaimie always a punk dealing with daddy issues.

Jimmy’s redemption story was the only storyline I cared for this season lol

What happens next season? A new city slicker comes for their land? I’m assuming John will let Jamie be a puppet governor. Don’t care about the hippy for next season.

Beth's ******* were tittying. They lost me as a week to week watcher though, them thangs not enough. If I hear good things i'll binge the next season.

Should’ve been WAY more Jamie/father storyline and WAY more Market Equities focus in this season. Could’ve just written off Kayce for the season early and done less of Beth’s BS.

Jamie killing his dad just didn’t really feel as big as it should have.

Market Equities lady came in with big ol balls like Beth ain't **** and they really didn't do anything with it.

yea they wasted all this time on lloyd and walker. should've had one of them off the other. then they kick ol girl out just to bring her back.

they find out who ordered the hit and do nothing with it until the final episode.

should've have Kaycee die in that opening the way they used him this season lol

Nearly finished with season 4. I'm a Western guy, love the mountains and am a sucker for Native culture. Show is pretty much right up my ally. Not perfect by any means but it is entertaining.

Came in to say if Rip run such a tight bunk house why did it take so long for him to kick out those barrel racing girls specifically that fast lil' blonde ting. Once she switched up from her grand pappy fantasies to Walker you knew it was going to go down.

Uh. I shouldn't like cowboy **** this much but I binged the 4 seasons in 1 week

Just checking in for whenever season 5 comes out

Seasons 1 and 2 were just pure *******. So when things started slowing down in the next two seasons, idk it just felt a lil weird/off

I felt like they hit every note flawlessly in the first 2. Pacing, writing, storylines, character arcs, everything. Got me hooked as ****

I kind of fear that **** is losing hella steam. Being that I could binge it, it was still great though. But like someone said, week to week, that **** might be a diff experience for me especially if they keep trying to do this **** with Kaycie

Jimmy's come up though. I still remember when he was setting the dynamite on the river and told RIP "WHOA, did you see that?!! I saw a trout!!!!" RIP yells back "shut the **** up and get your *** over here" hahahahahaha that got me for some reason

After reading every post, few things:

1. like Zik said, how tf the judge gonna go THAT HARD in the court room and then in chambers be like, yah, im gonna let her off, but don't announce it til Friday. WUT

2. Beth getting sterilized and ****... that doesn't seem at all realistic hahahahaha. I mean, do they actually do that at places? Why is it a requirement and why wasn't she briefed on that? wtf

These things happened A LOT in real life.

70s and 80s where some states frowned greatly on abortion. Places that did it were not on the up and up.

Also men are in charge and Beth was underage. They told Jamie they abort and sterilize (many at home methods would do this). It was his decision. Beth came to Jamie for help. She trusted him. Jamie chose not to tell Beth cuz given her situation as young and dumb as he is he felt it was better to get rid of the kid and sterilize her than not abort where she would most likely have the child.

Damn I gotta actually watch 1883. Only caught the first episode, but I was kinda messed up from drinking all day and I thought it was kinda trash. Need to rewatch.
