I wouldn't care if they didn't do anything to update the graphics. The gameplay is what I'm buying it for.

Good point and wouldn't it be harder to get BC rather than just remastering popular games that people would most likely again? Like how the last of us was remastered but it was out for a year but a lot of people didnt have a ps3 to play it and it was GOTY for last year for the most part

Yeah, it would make the consoles even more expensive, too. It's not as simple as the PS2 made it look. Each console differs from the next in terms of design.

And you can get a 360 for like the price of 1 or 2 remasters, so if you wanna play old games, knock yourself out.

To put it another way: BC=making every console buyer pay for something they might not use or want. Remaster= whoever wants it can buy it, everyone is free to ignore.

Got me thinking if Nintendo has Smash and PS has All Stars.  If MS were to create their own battle game who would be in it?  Banjo, ME, Fable, Gears, Halo, Perfect Dark, Viva Pinata, Sunset overdrive, Ryse, throw tomb raider and PvZ in there and make it a FPS or third-person shooter, this game would be pretty awesome.

I still own plenty of ps2/ps1 era games, so I don't see your point in bringing that up.

With BC everyone wins.

With remasters, $ony/m$/dev$ win.

Remastering a game used to mean something. Now a remaster is dropping every week to recoup lost sales of the last gen.

The majority can either be purchased and downloaded at a reasonable price from the companies respective online stores. Not everything, but I think it's a better option than adding dollars and un-needed junk on to the hardware. 

If you find keeping old systems inconvenient, but balk at the convenience of downloading those titles through the marketplace, you are part of a dwindling population.

No need for backwards compatibility on the xb1

That would have caused a lot of confusion also for online play (unless they just outright didn't support it) as well.

Also I'm sure countless people would end up copping the 360 version of ____ instead of the xb1 version to save a few bucks

That's a given, considering how expensive BC ps3s were. A person could just sell their old console to offset the increased price.

By everyone I meant consumers. They win since they have the option to play old games.

Rather than shelling out money for reskinned games.

Definitive edition, remastered edition, etc.

They should just call it what it really is, "The Recouping Lost Sales Edition."

Like I said remaster has lost it's true meaning. The Halo remaster is a true remaster to me. They're bring their A game, rather than being like "this awesome game that came out last year is now on this awesome system."

I don't like this trend. I don't see it ending though.

It's too easy for dev$ to make fast cash with these "remasters."

I remember sniping in gears 2. Most people who picked up the sniper would just corner snipe once one dude got hit he was too shook to move out and try to snipe again those were some great times on gears man

Man corner sniping was so cheesy, especially I'm blood drive and jacinto. I was the no scope king in 2 but I stopped playing snipe and became the king of frags I need to 2 piece someone in HD. Let's make this gears collection happen M$

bringing back memories. i remember the days when you would have 2 on 1 and the guy would be pinned, but if you rush in, you'd set off the grenades that were planted. Man, gears of war mp was something else. So much strategy

If the remasters are bringing something of considerable value to gamers, I'll all for it.

HCC is bringing servers, 4 games in one, and 60fps.

Tomb raider, sleeping dogs, rayman legends, etc bring what to gamers?

There's nothing wrong with putting your games on other plats, but quit lableing your game as being a remaster.

Leave that title for the dev$ who take that seriously.

The last of us remaster was pretty cool tho. Gave you all the DLC and and was $10 cheaper than the ps3 version that came out last year
