Wrestling Thread June 5th-30th/TGIF Edition/G1 Special In US Saturday 8PM ET Okada vs Cody

I remember Perry Saturn's promo with Dr Death and Bam Bam, and pretty much was saying they were the new dogs coming for the old dogs, and he kept saying, "Doc and Gordy, Doc and Gordy, Doc and Gordy, thats all we ever hear, Doc and Gordy..."

I loved Saturn. Used to put the younger brother in the rings as a kid all the time lol. He and Kidman were the main reasons I even paid attention to the flock in WCW too.

what a way to destroy him
Tried to make him into Al Snow 2.0 and it really backfired.

When I read this in the mobile preview, I thought it was about Takahashi. Then I realized everyone was on the Saturn talk.

Maybe I should find an inanimate object as a wrestler to get over.

Hiromu could probably make it work though lol.

Eliminators is in my Top 5 tag teams of all-time with Total Elimination being GOAT Tag-Team Finisher.

Yeah, Total Elmination was up there with the Doomsday Device in my eyes. Kronus was agile for his size.

I read Saturn fell on hard times. Killed me when he had the Moppy gimmick.

I got a chuckle when one of the commentators said that it's his Charisma and smile that throws off his opponents. WTF?!?

Heard that too...man, what? All that twitchyface **** would just make someone want to put a palm strike in his mouthpiece.

Fidget spinner. Maybe it helps you focus before a match. Maybe you jam it in an opponent's eye. Maybe you give it to some kid afterward. idk.

Also dug Perry Saturn...one of the first wrestlers I saw use a good variation of suplexes regularly. Rings is an awesome submission and I also recall he had a devstating elbow drop.

His concussion issues and the resulting Moppy saga indirectly led to the widespread concussion protocol in use by high profile sports leagues today.
