Wrestling Thread June 5th-30th/TGIF Edition/G1 Special In US Saturday 8PM ET Okada vs Cody

- There's already speculation that if Roman Reigns gets a title shot at SummerSlam, that could mean he wins the title from Brock Lesnar and John Cena would be his opponent at WrestleMania 34.

yawn.

- The deal with free agent Cena, for the moment, appears to be that he'll still appear on most SmackDown Live shows but he'll also do some episodes of Monday Night Raw.

That's not how free agents work.

- According to PW Insider, Rusev was at SmackDown Live last night but wasn't used. He should be back anytime.

yawn.

- WWE apparently has some big plans in place for Big Cass by the end of the year.

The privilege to be in Roman's presence.

- There's some speculation Rhyno and Heath Slater will no longer be a tag team going forward.

So the Raw tag division will be The Cracked Hardys and a bunch of heel teams?

They should let Ellsgawd be Remedial Cass' manager if that happens.

You know what they really should do.... turn Ellsgawd into this generation's Bobby Heenan. They should give Big Hog his own stable and call them the Ellsworth Family

hands down the best thing New Japan has is LIJ. Even with the stars they have, LIJ outshines them.

The dichotomy between Naito not giving a piss about the belt and Hiromu treating it like his lover, the overall silliness they get up to, the fashion sense, all of it. Dudes are too good.

Bullet Club:

Bullet Club is a typical Western style heel faction formed by Prince Devitt (Finn Balor) which consists of a majority of the "Gaijins" (non-Japanese talent) in the company and is now lead by Kenny Omega.

Members of Note:

  • Kenny Omega - First Gaijin (Foreign) winner of the G1 Climax and was Main Event Wrestle Kingdom 11 against Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Title. He is one of the top workers in the world and is like an anime villain come to life in his mannerisms.

  • The Young Bucks - They're that guy who plays the WWE Video Game and only does one move over and over, in their case thats a Superkick.
The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega refer to themselves as a trio as "The Elite"

  • Guerillas of Destiny - Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa they are the current Tag Team champs and are the sons of Haku. WWE fans might know Tanga Loa as Camacho.

  • Bad Luck Fale - Former Intercontinental Champion. He is a typical big guy who has big wins to his name such as clean wins over Hiroshi Tanahashi.

  • Yujiro Takahashi  - Formerly a member of Chaos, he left them for Bullet Club and was there only Japanese talent. He is often there nowadays though to eat pins but his "Tokyo Pimp" Persona makes him the best guy in the company.

  • Bone Soldier - Formerly Captain "****in'" New Japan recently joined Bullet Club much to the dismay of Finn Balor

  • Cody (Rhodes) – Now dubbed “The America Nightmare” the former WWE star is set to made his debut for NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom 11 as a member the Bullet Club.

Y'all remember when Seth had the white gear and he was WWE and US champwin?

That was awesome
That night Seth wrestled out of his mind. That was peak Rollins.

I was there for the RAM Cash-in by Ziggler and this Summerslam and the pop for both were the craziest I've ever heard. Was also at the RR where Reigns won and boo'd him and the Rock out the building. It's crazy how electric the crowd can get when not in Corpse Christi :lol

Add Pittsburgh to that list of dead crowds too

July-August

MUST watch shows
  • G1 Climax 27
  • G1 special in USA
And this is the big tournament. THE tournament. This runs from Mid July- to Mid August. Just like BOTSJ, this tournament is a blocked round robin tournament over 17 shows. The winner earns at title shot at Wrestle Kingdom 12. The other event is G1 special in USA. This is a two day event taking place two weeks before the G1 in Long Beach, CA.... it will be interesting to see how well NJPW draws in the USA without ROH.

Orlando's NXT crowd has ruined tons too. The smarks that are in that building are awful sometimes.

Agreed. I hate both types...crowds that sit on their hands and barely react to anything (Corpsing Christy, Pittsburgh, etc) and crowds that are loud for all the wrong reasons (95% of NXT/PPV crowds)

That "You deserve it" chant when Rollins was talking on Monday made me change the channel. How do you deserve a cover to a wrestling game? :lol

Watched the KO/Gable match and Dolph/Nak II from SDL, couldn't bring myself to care about anything else

Gable seems better as a singles guy. He looked good against dat cheerio.

Dolph & Nak's 2nd match is what their first match should've been. That was way better, I saw more NJPW Nak that time with a little WWE Nak mixed in..which is what he SHOULD be on SDL, but I won't get my hopes up. If only they would untrashify his titantron and get rid of that mega-fart noise during his entrance then I wouldn't worry so much.

I actually loved when Miz roasted smarks for doing that chant so often :lol
