Wrestling Thread April-September 2018 RIP

Just realized I won't may not even be able to watch GRR. Have a wedding that evening and will probably be en route to the location for the church :smh: .

Yea, I am not letting folks that spend 40 hours per week in a training facility, practicing moves, and don't have to worry about progressive travel fatigue to be in consideration for best in the world. He is a great talent though but there are others doing the same on a bigger and more challenging stage.
So only WWE competitors should be considered best in the world, correct?

WWE, NJPW, CMLL are the Top Tier Companies. They are the NBA of their Sport. EuroLeague dudes can't make the claim of being the best in the world. NXT dudes are in incubators, they can't be in the running.

What about 3 stars vs 3.75?
If I played the rating game, I would give Nakamura/AJ 3.5. Decent, not great, but solid. So EYE wouldn't give a damn about 3.75

You said, 3 (which I think it wild), so you would take offense (like the rest of these loser Anti-Meltzer heads)

Outside of WrestleKingdom, NXT Takeovers generate just as much, if not higher attendance than New Japan events. They are also a touring brand.

New Japan is much closer to NXT than it is to WWE as far as the big stage goes.

The incubation of NXT athletes is the main reason why I refuse to make it eligible.

2017 Attendance Numbers from WrestlingData.com

WrestleKingdom 11- 26,192
TakeOver Orlando- 14,975
TakeOver War Games- 14,231 per Wiki
Dominion- 11,756
TakeOver Brooklyn- 10,300
G1 Climax Day 19- 10,280
Sakura Genesis- 10,231
TakeOver San Antonio- 9,465 per Wiki
King of Pro Wrestling- 9,234

For some reason they don't have attendance numbers for TakeOver Chicago, but Allstate Arena can hold 18,211 for wrestling. I'd assume the attendance was somewhere in the 10k-14k range.

Please stop. NJPW is a stand alone company. NXT is “WWE Presents...”. If NXT was a stand alone company, it would be ROH or PWG

Yes, NXT certainly has that going for them.

Would you argue that more eyes viewing a product would probably mean it's a bigger stage?

If NXT and NJPW are in the same realm

A. Find me ANY wrestler anywhere that has/will DREAM of being on an NXT roster

B. Compare the pay stub of the mid and upper carder of NJPW vs. NXT

Yall understand this COMPLETELY goes against the, "But if it were at the Tokyo Dome......." argument right? This is usually the case with NXT Takeovers though, but yall like to play dumb as if he actually penalizes good wrestling simply because it is in the USA

No the joke is your not eligible for 5+ stars unless the match takes place in the Tokyo Dome
