He compared it to the end of Undertaker's streak 4 years ago in that only a few select people backstage knew the finish. None of the talent knew, none of the writers knew, even the lead producers didn't know. Everybody thought that Roman was going over.
He also mentioned that Roman was booked to win in the beginning, he doesn't know when the plan changed but he does know it was late in the game, could've been in the last week or so, maybe earlier. It wasn't a last minute decision though.
