What's this about Jay being broke between 07' and 08' and where did you hear this from?

Jay-Z was in fact broke, it's common for younger investors like him...he invested everything he had therefore had little or no liquid assets.
It came to light when Mikal Prokhorov squeezed him out of the Nets, he's a "minority shareholder" which means his 300 million only equaled to
3%., this was ALL of his worth...because he was dropped from Def Jam and had to buy out of contract to release BP3

When he appeared in forbes this year, it was "PROJECTED" worth, after the rights to his Reasonable Doubt masters become his factored into
the 190 million he accumalated for his LIVE NATION deal 2009.

He thought bringing LeBron to the team would give him more leverage and so did shareholders, Lebron played him like Jesus Shuttleworth and that's
when the Nets felt he wasn't important enough and made the Prokhorov move.

This is what I mean by fame is slippery ice

All I'm gonna say is, there are PLENTY of filthy rich people who would give up massive amounts of cash to be famous. Plus the OP said financially stable celebrity, not broke. Would you rather be Joe Schmoe making 3 mill a year, or a world famous musician making 1.5? I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people chose the latter.

With the fame Jay Z has he can never go "broke". All that negro has to do is start up his own charity.
Who wouldn't throw their money at Jay Z? Oh wait...

LMAO at this info..  you have no clue what you are talking about...  Bruce Ratner bought the team for 300M, not Jay
Jay invested about 3-4M total in the Nets in 04 and was always an extremely limited minority owner. Prokhorov bought Bruce Ratners majority shares out as well as a few others, Jays shares were unaffected and he still owns the same 1-1.5% he always owned, they never needed Jays few M, they just wanted him as a figurehead to help with the Public Relations in the move to BK where there was a controversy because they had to displace alot of families to buy all the buildings where the arena will be...
