Working as a Retail Sales Consultant Vol. AT&T

Currently an RSC in NJ.

Hours are long but the pay is good. Made 30k working the last 6 months of 2014. Digital Life is a huge focus right now, get familiar with it, pitch to everyone. Leverage paying sales tax up front on equip to get people to sign up. Submitted orders is key.

Most of your money comes from new activations so attack that metric. Always try to turn it into a gross add. Push the promotions, and focus less on saving people money on their bill vs. getting them more for their money. If you can save em $20, turn that into a mobile hotspot. Then just tell them they're getting more for what they were already paying. Gotta look at it from that point of view.

The secondary metrics that you don't get paid directly for are big on a company wide scale (making sure people are logging into their MyAt&t app, etc) so you gotta find a rhythm where you can work these metric while still trying to make the sale, without putting too much pressure on your customer.

There's a lot more to it but above all AT&T prides itself on customer service so always do right by the customer. Quickest way to get fired is mistreating/deceiving a customer.
