Tinanggal na ba si Willie or Suspended lang? Wala sya sa Wowowee ngayon pati nung Saturday(yata).

whats painful is after the ultra tragedy wherein 80 or more people died, the show is still on air.

dont they feel sorry for the people who lost their loved ones that day who still have to deal with wowowee on a daily basis (sige na wala na on sunday, asapna)?

they dont necessarily watch the show, but when they hear about issues like this one (which is inevitable) it only brings back painful memories making it harderfor them to be at peace and move on with life.

they should just axe willie and cancel wowowee to give people who suffered in the ultra tragedy the peace they deserve.

Well, I guess it's not really easy to defend his case.
However, I am not amused by Joey's crab-like ways either.
If he really was more concerned for Cory being dissed over simply trashing Willie,
why didn't he just make a poem of admiration for Cory instead of a lousy incriminating poem for Willie?

I agree with Jason, 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Network offers 'Wowowee' settlement

The legal counsel of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board on Tuesday asked the complainants against TV station ABS-CBN, which is under firein connection with host Willie Revillame's alleged unethical behavior in his show "Wowowee", to appear before the board Thursday for a possiblesettlement with the network's management.

Jonathan S. Presquito, MTRCB chief legal counsel, said the complainants should come to their office at President's Tower on Timog Ave. in Quezon City at1:30 p.m. Thursday to consider the network's proposed a settlement.

Revillame, 48, filed an indefinite leave of absence from ABS-CBN as a result of the barrage of criticisms hurled against him for allegedly showing disrespectto the late President Corazon Aquino during the transfer of Cory's remains from the De La Salle gym to the Manila Cathedral which was aired live at thesame time that "Wowowee" was airing.

Aside from the alleged discourtesy to Mrs. Aquino, the TV host was also condemned by concerned citizens over his alleged offensive hosting style.

Last August 11, Presquito filed a consolidated complaint against Revillame based on the statements of at least three aggrieved parties identified as Arlene deGuzman-Ronquillo; Edward Berador and a certain "M. Ballesteros."

Also named respondents in the six-page complaint were ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation; Socorro Vidanes, ABS-CBN vice president for TV programming andentertainment; and Raymond Ronquillo, estranged husband of Arlene and a resident of 40 Spinach St., Valle Verde 5, Pasig City.

Arlene claimed that Revillame caused psychological pain on her three children - aged three, 11 and 12 - when he teased her estranged husband for a"Wowowee" dancer in at least five separate airings of the game show from March to July this year.

She said her two older children refused to go to school after they were subjected to humiliation by classmates who either viewed or heard about Revillame'suncalled for statements.

Arlene claimed that the two are now undergoing "psychological consultation".

Her eldest daughter also launched an "anti-Willie" campaign through her Facebook account.

The two other complainants called the attention of the MTRCB over "Wowowee's" alleged failure to comply with its Parental Guidance rating byrepeatedly showing dancers in skimpy attires.

Presquito asked the MTRCB to impose a preventive suspension on "Wowowee's" showing of "indecent and obscene" performances while theinvestigations are ongoing.

The MTRCB has set another hearing on the issue on September 3, it was learned.

ABS CBN imo made the right decision not to defend willie, may utang na loob pa din sila. who knows bka my back stabbing din nangyari between kris andwillie pina ganda lang nila. Pina pili na ang ABS between siya o si willie.

Letter of ABS-CBN's Ma. Socorro Vidanes to the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas:

We write in reply to your letter dated 10 August, requesting ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation to comment on the complaint of Movie and Television Review and classification board (MTRCB) Chairperson Ma. Consoliza P. Laguardia, and an undated statement of Jerry Yap, President of the Alyansa ng Filipinong Mamamahayag (AFIMA).

The said complaints and statement both refer to the 03 August 2009 episode of the television program Wowowee, wherein the funeral cortege of the late President Corazon C. Aquino was exhibited as an inset in portions of the said program. The MTRCB letter alleges that Mr. Revillame "appeared to arrogantly demand the removal of the inset screen showing the funeral cortege". The Honorable MTRCB Chairperson then opined that the said act was "desecrating the dead" and thus, "seems to be in violation of Article 20, Section 2, of the Broadcast Code of the Philippines".

On the other hand, the AFIMA statement states that "for him to deman the removal of the little window screen showing the funeral march of the woman who got ABS-CBN back from Marcos is a blasphemy of democracy, an act despicable xxx." It appears, therefore, that the complaint and statement are both based on the alleged disrespect by Mr. Revillame to the late former President Aquino.

It is ABS-CBN's position that there was no disrespect of the dead by Mr. Revillame. When the funeral cortege of former President Aquino was shown as an inset during Wowowee, Mr. Revillam expressed his opinion of the inappropriateness of the simultaneous exhibition of both the funeral cortege and Wowowee, and his preference that only one or the other be shown.

In expressing his opinion and preference, though, Mr. Revillame did not show disrespect for former President Aquino, In fact, the contrary is true. In making his statements, Mr. Revillame wanted to give due respect to former President Aquino and her funeral cortege

Indeed, in Filipino culture, customs, and tradition, ceremonies involving the dead are solemn and sober. Thus, the laughter, jokes, and happiness usually seen in a program like Wowowee would appear to be inappropriate when viewed together with the funeral cortege. On the one hand, the Filipino people are mourning the death of a loved and respected former President, and on the other hand, Wowowee is trying to entertain its audience.

It appears, therefore, that Mr. Revillame's issue was with the inappropriateness of Wowowee and the funeral cortege being shown together, and not with the funeral cortege itself. While it may be argued that Mr. Revillame could have expressed his thoughts in a better way and that it would have been better to raise them privately, instead of the public manner in which he did, such was not disrespectful of the dead and not constitute an offense under the KBP Broadcast Code of the Philippines.

We trust the foregoing comment satisfactorily establishes that there was no violations of the KBP Broadcast Code of the Philippines.
