eminem is a good lyricist. its just the %!#+ he raps about is annoying, his mom, a girl, his daughter, emo etc.... if he rapped about other %!#+ he would be great. but its just annoying listening him yellling and screaming on a track with an emo !+$ chorus. hes reaching way too far. i feel like the typa people that listen to him are middle school emo boys and girls who relate to this depressing +$#!@$%%

Alotta ppl don't like his work (myself included) bc of his annoying loud monotone new voice...corny sing song hooks and poor beat selection...most of his topics and execution only appeal to suburban white kids...but I wouldn't call him garbage just weak for my tastes

The DMX scenerio was a lil different... But Ns was still like "He need to chill"... Even with his bars on "Bring Ya Whole Crew"... & the man has been smokin crack before MOST of us were born... (also his first 2 albums were written in the EARLY 90s)

It's not like Em wasn't addicted to drugs at one point in his life.
The bottom line is that they both rapped about some pretty raunchy stuff.
I remember listening to X Is Coming when I was in the 6th grade and I couldn't even finish the rest of the album.
Dude had me terrified to listen to his CD.

Truth.
I am not hating on Em either. I loved dudes first two albums. Now its not like they are super wack, but just not what I feel he is (was) capable of. That singing stuff on Recovery is annoying as well. I only really mess with 3 songs off it. I've always said that Em kills it on the features mostly, but he cannot consistenly make great (even good sometimes) albums. That to me makes him a great rapper, even great MC not a truly great artist. But I purchase CDs from great artists.
Only an opinion though, don't kill me on the web y'all
