Yeah the star is screen printed and even feels like the screen printed star on the Finishline ones...I just bought mine from HOH at south coast plaza....they were $80.  I got the home ones.  I didn't know until I got there that the shorts were two toned....Homes: front white, back navy.  Aways: front navy, back red.  These are also one layer like the platinum shorts, but the platinums almost feel like better quality for some reason.  The only reason I didn't get the away color is because the nike swoosh was already peeling off -_- and it was the only one in my size.  I'm debating if I want to keep them or not....the FIBA felt better than these IMO

I checked both shorts out yesterday at NT London. The ones with the holes are more expensive and probably the authentic but for me the material is almost too thin and feels cheap to the touch. For performance I can see why these are preferred, but for casual use the non-hole versions feel a lot better when they're on and just overall more comfortable. Just my 2 cents. Also they run large as usual. I'm 6 feet 180lbs and a Medium hits slightly below the knees just right. I guess sizing has been this way for a while now...
