Hard to blame one person for Hip Hop's decline.
When Do You Think Mainstream Rap Music Started To Decline ?

Just like every other popular form of music, the Internet killed Hip-Hop.
People don't buy albums and then complain that the music is watered down. Well, only rappers that appeal to the lowest common denominator can have hits.
The days of a Wu-Tang going platinum are over, so the days of a Wu-Tang type group making a major impact are over as well.
If I had to pick a time, I'd say 06'. TM101 and the trap movement pretty much rendered NY irrelevant, and opened up the floodgates for Southern rap (where most rappers were not putting out quality music).
I still like a lot of the stuff that's coming out so I ain't really complaining, tho.

The only thing that can bring real hip hop is the westcoast and they will. Tde is the start
