What would you do if a kid age 9-12 blurts a racial slur at you?

Reason for age 9-12 is I purposely chose an age range where the kid is not completely naive, yet not mature enough to completely be aware of the consequences of his or her actions.

A 9-12 year old kid knows what a racial slur is and depending on context knows how to use it. No need to bother asking, I'd just laugh or quote Chappele show "The racism is killing me inside."

Slapping the kid or hurting him in any way sounds like the new cop trap. Slap a kid by himself then cops bust out of nowhere and arrest me for child abuse, endangering a minor, and all other fallacious crimes.
