I was back home in the Philippines. We had a tennis tournament (only finished runner up

) and our whole neighborhood came to the courts to celebrate the year2000. Huge gathering. We had one of these bad boys:

graduated HS in June
got my 1st job @ Macy's over the summer, thought I was ballin' w/my $6.50/hr & 30% discount
started college (Sac State), crossed into a fraternity (Lambda Phi Epsilon)
thought I was the flyest dude out there w/my Old Navy carpenters (rubber bands around the ankles, of course), Nikes/Iversons/K-Swiss/Lugz, plaid shirts/Triple5 Soul/Ecko/Rocawear/Mecca & Kanji New Eras (anyone remember those?)
turned 18 in November
picked up a lot of "hobbies" that got me through (& also may have hurt me) through my college years - drinkin', blazin', shoes, New Eras& freestylin'

To sum it all up, I was that kid who went from being a bit of an outcast in HS to wildin' out in college. Looking back, 2000 was a very good year. Ican't believe it's almost been a decade.
