that's not why, nobody is junking their FD's because the engine goes.  they are all in the hands of rotary heads now who can tear them down and rebuild them in a day or two.  they were never common to begin with.  i doubt they will ever drop another rotary engine powered mazda again.  the mpg are so bad.  mine got 14 mpg in the city.

  full catless exhaust had me throwing flames and sounding like a chainsaw though.
