I understand that, but I still believe that I will make Var this year, if not swing Varsity atleast. I'm not cocky, I'm confident,it's just my beliefOriginally Posted by ballislife32688
well let me give you a little insight and some honesty, you may be working hard and be a good player, but trust me unless your a superstar the coach is not gonna give you the shine you want out the gate because he already has players in place that he trust. this is just politics of the game I had to learn. Don't make my mistakes I was better than the people on the team in highschool but they had been there so instead I decided not to play and went back to my old school because I wasn't gonna get the playing time I wanted. Big mistake pay your dues, out work everybody and next year takeover. Trust me on this, in life and sports you gotta pay your dues sometimes. So keep all this in mind and stay focused.Originally Posted by JLking
I feel you OP, We got similar goals, my ultimate goal is to become the first widely know Asian basketball player in the NCAA and then in the NBA. My current goal is to make Varsity this year, I'm a junior in HS. I''ve been working hard everyday since the beginning of the summer, this will be my first year on any basketball team ever. try-outs are in 5 days, I'm psyched and nervous, to see all my hard work pay off. It's gonna be the begging of a long road to success, filled with lots of blood, sweat and tears. I'm already basically devoting my life to basketball, I go to the gym everyday and spend 2 hours there lifting weights and doing drills. I go home do my hw and go to the gym, this is my life everyday, even on weekends. I know I can make it. I am gonna make it. The odds are even more stack against me, since I'm so skinny (5"11 and about 130 lbs), of course I've already started taking some mass-gainer powder.
For all you haters out there, I don't care what you think. My belief is stronger than your doubt. Your hate just fuels my fire!!!!
To the OP: Best of Luck to you, I believe you can make it
