WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - Up Next: Brave New World 02/14/25

This isn't the type of movie that will fail. This will be a cultural event like the first film. Quote me on this....highest grossing film in box history.

Fail? As in flop? No. Will it be a good movie? Only time will tell. I doubt it but it's possible

90 percent of everything that Whedon has had a hand on I've enjoyed. His work has barely disappointed me for 18 years, I doubt he'd do it with the Avengers sequel.

Whedon hasn't failed me yet. He excels at making ensembles work imo. I'm confident this goes the Cap2 route and improves on the series. The cluster ***** of ASM2 and IM3 are still fresh in my mind though.

3 Marvel movies in 2017. Not related, but I think there should be a MCU thread, so we won't have to create a thread for every single movie that comes out.

I second the notion. It seems like it's the same people posting in every comic thread anyway

Yeah, it pretty much is, and it'll be updated more and we'd have more to talk about. I'd make it now, but I want to hear what the dude who usually creates these threads would say

I'm with an MCU thread. I wonder if we can have the mods combine all of the old threads? Anyone good with the mods like that? 8o

No need for the old threads imo. Combining Guardians, this, and maybe Cap is all it would need.

Consolidating all the MCU threads are fine, I've thought about it plenty of times and kind of did it with the Sony/Amazing Spiderman franchise but the problem is any news that are posted during a movie release will get buried and ignored. Loads of people flock the thread once a movie comes out and honestly, even I can't keep up with it.

Plus, for those who wants to stay tuned with other Marvel news or discuss it but doesn't want to get spoiled, it's easier to avoid the movie thread than the whole MCU thread but those might be in the minority.

If you guys are consolidating the threads, it should be easy enough to contact any mod to do it. They can probably start with Phase 2 (IM3 and forward).

I am not sure if there is a way but it would be cool if several active members are able to edit the first post and title though so that it can be updated when a movie comes out or a big news is announced or there is a big reveal.

Man, the idea of having multiple editors for a single thread is kinda cool. I'm surprised someone hasn't proposed that before. I wonder if that's possible.

Is there a guardians of the galaxy thread out right now? It's coming up soon.

I don't wanna be a party pooper but Id like for each film to have its own thread

I'd rather not have to avoid an entire thread of news for multiple films just to avoid spoilers for one film that was just released.

Party pooper. Having one thread is better imo. I mean we'd focus on the movie that's coming out soon but we can drop some rumors and news about other movies in production. It'll be better to have something that's constantly updates than to have these threads constantly die down

I honestly do not think the thread dies down until there is nothing to talk about, I mean the GotG thread is constantly on pages 1-3 of General, it doesn't really go deeper than that and once it releases it'll be bumped every 5 minutes. The only threads that really get buried are the ones that's been out for a while like IM3 or Thor2 for example but then those usually goes back up once the bluray comes out and when it is on HBO or Showtime then more people discuss/talk about it.

I'm cool either way, there's pros and cons on both sides, neither really bothers me.

If you're gonna make that MCU thread do it after Guardians comes out like some time in October since there's no more MCU movies for the rest of this year.

Let the GOTG thread play itself out and go from there.

One thing that'll have to be maintained is how the comic/supernatural/etc. based movies thread is handled in regards to news if we're gonna have a MCU thread. Also this thread may have to be ditched or you could just rename this thread the MCU thread.

We could wait after GOTG comes out. I mean there's so much news that's being reported and much of it isn't being discussed at all, that's why I brought it up.  And yeah, this thread could be renamed that, seeing as how this film is the end of Phase II, so it'll be a fresh start.
