WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - Agatha All Along new ep every Wednesday

Her and Aaron Taylor-Johnson must have a good onscreen chemistry. How did they get cast in both Godzilla and A2
He must've recommended her or vice versa during casting auditions for QS/SW.

Let's be real though: Marvel is not stupid. They're casting all of young and talented Hollywood and locking them down for long contracts.

They must have missed NTs man crush and future Denzel, DDL and Leonardo all in one (according to NT)... Michael B Jordan!

Oh great! :{

As for The Avengers sequel, Downey declared: “This one is a very ambitious sequel. If you read it, it’s dense, it’s smart. Joss [Whedon] is a really smart guy. My 2-year-old is crazy about Hawkeye, and I think Jeremy [Renner] has a lot to do with the plot. There’s always so many plates to spin to get these things half-right, and I’m really excited about this one.”

Hero shot.

That's the rumor floating around but we know damn well ya'll gon give Whedon the geek pass anyways. :lol

Not a pass as much as WB, Sony and Fox go out of their way to make Marvel look better than they are. TASM coulda snuck in like Iron Man in 08. TDKR and MoS coulda stomped their boots on the whole Marvel movement. The Wolverine coulda stole 2013 with how IM3 and Thor 2 turned out. And then Batfleck and Gadot and Eisenberg, and pushing movies back. Then DofP promos and Electro's face. FF...the MBJ controversy...the Kate Mara controversy...the Miles Teller controversy :lol...the Jamie Bell controversy. :lol ...the 'Is Doom gonna be a chick' controversy. :lol

Joss hasn't done anything since Avengers. He just been chillin...writin...let Feige do his thing and wait for RDJ to get re-signed. Hell SHIELD show has his name on it, and it's 3/4 trash. But he accidentally mentions SW and QS are gonna be in TA2 and look how Fox responds. :lol Nah, it ain't a geek pass, dude is standing still while the others keep running backwards and in circles.

Nah he'll get pass on it just like he'll get a pass on SW costume and QS, QS isn't as bad as Fox but it's still not as good as expected. I expect it to be better with cgi and once they have him moving but still underwhelming right now. It's still a pass though if he makes a bad decision and they just let it go, no matter if the other studios have done worse, ain't no excuse for making Mandarin what he was for example. It was so bad that they had to rectify it with a One-Shot mini-short, granted not Whedon but Marvel ain't batting 1.000 as most put them in a pedestal. SW costume is minor but their background and father, that could be a bigger deal but most will likely just scoff and let it go.

Movie will likely still be great nonetheless so I really do not care much.

Don't really want to get into DC argument again in the Avengers thread but the casting has been beaten to death, just got to wait and see how it all turns out. Casting isn't really bad though outside of Eisenberg. Pushing the movie back has nothing to do with anything, could just be internal or scheduling conflicts.

On a unrelated note, Whedons Much Ado About Nothing was pretty bad I thought. His interpretation just didn't work to me.

What they are supposedly shooting is a rescue mission of sorts and defending against Ultron(s)? So maybe the Ultron army are landing or they are waiting for the hellicarrier to land or it's getting destroyed on air? QS was suppose to be in battle already and SW and Hawkeye arrived to help him.

Really hope this is in the beginning or middle of the film so we get a different costume for SW at least.

What are you talking about? :lol I just said, that backlash and doubt on Joss, Feige and Marvel all woulda coulda shoulda happened...but then the other studios tripped over themselves to steal all the negativity and "what the **** are they doing?" spotlight with their offbrand decisions, poor PR and general mediocrity the last 2 years. You can have your opinion on DC and Fox all you want, but Marvel had the Mandarin happen, DC steal Comic-Con with BvS, and then the SHIELD show ... and still won the PR and fantalk for the last 2 years.

I been a fan of Joss for forever and I was one of the only ones in the Avengers thread not stanning over the movie, and pointing out how weak the first act was. But the movie came out well, just about everyone at least liked it fine, and that's all it takes to get people on your side.

Everyone gave X-Men: First Class a pass, because of how awful X3 and Wolverine Origins were. It's the same thing. It's not a pass. They just looking around and saying damn ... thank you for not being them. I mean look, all I had to do was mention a couple things and you're on the defensive. There's nothing in the future of Marvel that people have really had to defend at all.

I am not on the defensive, it's a discussion. Why am I always on the defensive when I reply and happen to disagree? :lol

Look, all I said was that Whedon will get a pass if Baron is their father same way SWs costume isn't very SW and some are calling it "genius" for some reason. You seem to disagreed and I just re-iterated what I said earlier with a few more info as support. That's defensive?

I get what you are saying that other studios has f'd up themselves thus overshadowing Marvels own but it still doesn't change the fact that Whedon will get a pass. If Singer makes that costume and doesn't make Magneto their father, then all hell would break lose.

Whedon would still get a pass though and that was the point, overshadowed by other PR nightmares from other studios or not.

Simple as that.

You brought up Fox and DC but if I touch up on it then I am defensive? If you don't want people to expand on an opinion or subject, then don't bring it up or call someone defensive just because I disagreed or added to the conversation.

Why can't it just be a discussion from opposing sides?

To me, First Class was good and not just because X3 and origins were crap. I liked how the whole thing worked together and how it tied with the cold war and Fassbenders performance was great. It isn't perfect but I liked it. Feeling on the film seems 50/50 but I am on the side of those who liked it. There really isn't a reason to give it a pass because it's suppose to be a reboot and ignores the past films and even though Singer produced, Vaughn directed the movie well and really do wish he returned for DofP.

Marvel made Avengers happen. I'm inclined to give everything that sucked before AND after a pass...

You put the Mandarin and the fact that Marvel doesn't have Magneto's rights on Joss, though. :lol

SWs costume isn't very SW and some are calling it "genius" for some reason.
So? That's the big pass he's gettin? 8o

If Singer makes that costume and doesn't make Magneto their father, then all hell would break lose.
Wut? ... Wut?

To me, First Class was good and not just because X3 and origins were crap.
It's the same thing. People were calling First Class the greatest X-Men, and one of the greatest comic book movies when it came out.

There really isn't a reason to give it a pass because it's suppose to be a reboot and ignores the past films
Wait, what? Rebecca Romijn and Hugh Jackman.. I mean they replayed the first scene from X1 to start the movie. :lol

Rebecca Romjin and Jackman were like homages, why do you think none of the things in 1st Class added up with the past films? Vaughn admitted it himself that it was a nod. 1st Class is suppose to be a weird prequelboot.

The director himself calls it a mixture of prequel and reboot and it ignores plenty of different events but technically it is suppose to be a start of a new franchise.

“My main goal was to make as good a film that could stand on its own two feet regardless of all the other films.” said Vaughn. “However I thought anything that worked in all the other movies, and I could have some fun with nodding towards, I would. But my main rule was, ‘You know what, we’re trying to reboot and start a whole new X-Men franchise’ and therefore, making a film work on its own two feet was far more important than trying to be referential to the prior movies.”

I admit though i's weird, in other interviews, mostly earlier interviews form that link, he says it isn't a reboot.

Replaying Magnetos origins just happens to be the same origins/story, keep in mind 1st Class originally started as a Magneto and ProfX separate origin films. It makes sense to show Magnetos origins are the same but along with their friendship, that really is kind of where it ends but Mystique being ProfX's best friend and they hardly acknowledged each other in X1-X3, not even a mention and she came close to killing her "best friend" in X2 by putting that poison on Cerebro. You really could put many, many inconsistencies here to show why this supposed prequel isn't true to the timeline and I think this is what DofP is trying to solve/fix. We'll see though.

If Singer makes that costume and doesn't make Magneto their father, then all hell would break lose.
Wut? ... Wut?

Really not sure what you don't get from that?

SWs costume isn't very SW and some are calling it "genius" for some reason.
So? That's the big pass he's gettin? nerd.gif

Again, see above. If Singer had SW wearing that in XMen, people go nuts, in a bad way. Of course nothing beats his QS.

You put the Mandarin and the fact that Marvel doesn't have Magneto's rights on Joss, though.

How is that defensive though? If you don't have the rights, don't butcher their origins. Just don't mention their father or pick other members perhaps? Whedon is smart enough to think of something else. Would be great to just never mention their father and just hint on it as a FU to Fox, Marvel doesn't really need to go that low but it'll be fun to see. At the end of the day, this was just a rumor though so really no point in discussing it, just got to wait if there is indeed a backlash to making their father someone else.

Anyways, Hulkbuster fist from the ABC Marvel special.

I don't...Star Trek was a reboot that nodded to the movies that came before. First Class literally replayed a scene from the first movie, had cameos from actors reprising their roles, and brought back what...half of the original's cast in the sequel? So if all of the main characters show up except 2 (of the 3) who died, it's still an homage? :lol

If Singer makes that costume and doesn't make Magneto their father, then all hell would break lose.
"Magneto is their dad dammit!" ...like everyone don't know that Marvel doesn't own Magneto. Or that any backlash from putting non-mutant, non-Magneto's kids SW&QS into Avengers 2 went away when Fox said..."oh yeah???...well...then we will too!!"

Cuz people gotta be drinking the kool-aid when they say this...

Nah I think that is exactly it though, people will say that on Whedons version but changing the origins is still changing the origins, really can't make excuses for Whedon there. Not putting the rights on Whedon either, I think it might be better if he just ignores their father and just let the audience assume Magneto is out there in their universe or something than giving them new parents? Maybe they can even make Baron their foster parents, then their true parents are still vague and still not changing where they came from,I think that'll be fine too. Again it's a rumor so we just got to wait which route they take.

And yah, not many know about those rights actually. We're in an internet forum where everyone is a "comic book expert" but really you see it asked over and over again, "why is SW and QS in Avengers?", "Is Magneto going to be in the Avengers?", "I thought Fox owned XMen, so how is Marvel using SW & QS?", "How are they going to address Magneto and mutants in Avengers?", etc... Not everyone is clear on these distinctions. When it was announced, many were very confused and not until Whedon explained the loopholes that people started to know but to this day, there are still plenty who doesn't know. As we get closer to release, you'll see more of those questions I am sure.

And I am the first to joke that Fox is only putting QS for a 2 minute role in DofP to give Marvel the middle finger but we really do not know how long Singer has had him planned. For all we know, he was planned for X3 and it went nowhere when Singer dropped out of the project. Remember that Pietro was listed in the computer in X2 when Mystique hacked the government files and he was also in Origins in one of Strykers prison, he was running around in his cell while bound by some elastic binds. So you really can't say Singer of Fox did it just to do it, sure seems like it but they have teased him before.

I still trust Whedon though and very much looking forward to this, rumor true or not.

But there's a clear answer and then a little mystery to that. Good mystery, like how are they gonna work around it...not bad mystery like 'is that Khan or not' or...'are they ******* this up?'

Fox had nothing to explain...they own Magneto, own the X-Men, can do whatever they want.
There shoulda been nothing to talk about if they put SW & QS in...they invented the bad buzz themselves.

But you said these weren't prequels.

maybe when im 50 theyll do this all over again and Marvel will have all the rights to everybody and do it properly.........

who is Scarlet Witch gonna depower now? Captain America?

semi srs.

I am not arguing if it is bad mystery or good mystery, the discussion was on the rumor. If it were true, will Whedon get a pass or flack for it? If it's not true and Whedon pulls it off, then cool.

Not going to get into Star Trek since I just like the film, not really a fan like that so the Khan thing wasn't as a big a deal it was for others.

And? I am not saying Fox has to explain anything, not sure where you are going with that. I am saying Whedon gets excuses made for him and he gets a pass while if Singer simply puts SW in that costume, he'll get flack for it. Not arguing about the bad buzz on Fox either or DC. The discussion was mainly on Whedon and whether he is on Nolan "can do no wrong" status right now, other studious crap should have no bearing on it.

Again it's a rumor we'll just have to wait and see if it fleshes out.

But you said these weren't prequels.

But you say they are though? :lol So they are a prequel to prove your point but they aren't prequels once the point moves around in your favor?

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter though, why does it have to be the same guy from the same timeline? The point is they used him first and already had it planned from the get go, X2 was a clear tease, maybe (just maybe) Fox didn't just put him in DofP to F with Marvel, Singer might already be thinking of using him but did not get the chance when he dropped from directing X3 and First Class? All speculations of course but I was just pointing out that he was there and Fox has planted the seeds 5 years even before Ironman releases.

I mean really just more inconsistencies if you think about it, Origins had a young Emma Frost and in 1st Class they have a fully matured Emma Frost. First Class was clearly from the 60s while Origins was clearly more modern. If you really want to believe or they want you to believe that is the same QS through the whole franchise, then they'll do it and you'll be fine because you consider none of it are reboots, right? Even if none of it make sense?

According to Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were abandon by their parents when they were young and grew up in Eastern Europe by themselves. I'm guessing who their real father is won't be revealed.

I don't know Hawkeye's father.
Black Widow's father.
Banner's father.
Captain America's father.

Pretty sure you guys can all relax about two new characters father. It's a non issue.

Stressing over that stuff is why we have the sunshine dudes of the world who hate every movie, every show, every everything yet come into thread after thread repeating how "bad" everything is. :rolleyes

Man that Scarlett Witch does not a damn thing for me at all, not even a half chub.

She looks like one of those drug addict hipsters that you see on the train at 12a.m. asking you for directions on how to get to Brooklyn.

All the Olsen girls look like that :lol
